Let's be honest. GMS already had a ton of extras that KMS never had. You're all comparing the rates to GMS with 2x EXP and after the...what...40% reduction across the board? The reductions weren't carried over in the new rates, so OF COURSE it's not going to be as wonderful. Add in the removal of 2x cards into this mix and you just amplified the reduction in speed.
I know where all of you are coming from, and trust me, I understand. On the other hand...when you really look into it...GMS had a (by far) unfair advantage in more than just EXP in the past...so too bad. I'm trying not to sound like the people above me that obviously just feel like basically telling off the people who are complaining but meanwhile...this is nearly to be expected in the end. The only thing you can do is wait for LHC, and if it's still not acceptable for you then well....that's just honestly too bad. Nexon NA isn't going to remove BB because you don't like the new rates.
Edit: And to add to it, after watching the Guild Notifications during 2x in Zenith...while no one there is 150+, I saw people gaining Levels in less than 5 minutes at 9x-10x. Yes, it's due to Gallos, but meanwhile Gallos at that level only give 2.5x as much exp, so without them...people would be leveling in 15ish minutes instead...and as a person who has been playing MS for a very long time I can simply say this: That's impossible in Vanilla MS. Not without wasting thousands of dollars on perfect gear, EXP cards, the whole spheal...and this is a NEW server. No one has anything, and they are leveling in 5 minutes (15 without Gallos). That's far beyond fast, that's super speed. So if you don't like it...oh well.

By the way, what level range is LHC for?
140+.
I'm assuming it gets slow around Lv160 though, since the Door to the Future is for players Lv160+.

What is this I don't even. The supposedly better EXP rates were not pulled out of our asses; Nexon promised them. They made a freaking poll for GLOBAL MapleStory, they made teasers hinting at and announcements claiming those new rates to be better. Whether or not Nexon and the playerbase are thinking on the same wavelength (taking into account the EXPlosion, 2x card, 2x entitlement, etc), the players have every f'ucking right in this and the next world to complain if they don't get something promised/advertised to be delivered to them.
That said, things would've been fine if Nexon had kept their mouths and their stupid polls tightly shut.

I don't mind it. Before this patch everyone would leech their characters to 12x and beyond. Now they're forced to train their asses off and actually learn to use their character.

i've never liked 2x exp cards nor bosses that could be hoarded for exp/leveling. so, i love the change. playing lower level chars feels fun and very free again.
this said though, they REALLY need to address what happens after 170+, its so slow that its almost not even WORTH training a char at the level.
much less 180+ which is just beyond slow. its literally painful seeing the exp you've gotten after an hour and realizing how long it will take until your even close to leveling... its almost broken.
every time i login i hear of more people putting their high level chars into hibernation... thank god resistance is soon so theres actually something to do. >____>

95% of the mapleverse is less than level 100.
For that 95% of the world the XP got near infinitely easier. Nexon has kept their promise to that 95%.
The other 5% who now are about the same or a little worse don't really matter to Nexon. They're the vocal minority they always go out of their way to disregard and dismiss.

Not that I am arguing about you about that people over 100 are the minority (because i really do believe it) but I doubt it would be 95% due to several factors.
1) Mules, i have several mules, i think i have over 5 right now. As you can guess, all these mules are under 100.
2) People play one main chracacter sometimes. I have two characters that are over 120 that i play most. The rest are just for pqing (which are now useless after big bang) and screwing around on. So while it may seem like there are more low level characters, there are a lot of people who have many low level alts and have one high level main they play on.
3) People who quit early. Really, one of the things I believe that the ranking system fails at is that it doesn't take to account the inactivity of characters. If X character was made 3 years ago and quitted at level 35, it will still be in the data and on the rankings to this day (and its mad anoying too when people quit, because a lot of them had good names. Good names are getting hard to come by =/ I've been too lazy to make creative names for my characters now that i resort to doing _______Tig for most of them (the blank is for an attribute, like for my aran i put Frosty in the blank xD)
But with that all said, I agree that Nexon will always catar to the majority (which is in fact the level 100 and lower crowd), and leave the minor group in the dark. Sometimes they will be nice and throw a bone to us veterans who have higher level characters, like giving us minidungeons and higher level maps, but in the end we should just learn to tough it out because lets face it, Nexon doesn't care about us.

Yeah, Eos, they do ignore that 5% until they band together like Excellent did in Scania and turn the server into a Hellhole for the other 95%.
Maybe it's time the high levelers across the board start banding together more instead of being in direct competition with each other. If anything every high leveler out there has only one source of competition... the rest of the lower levels who always get their way or get in the way.
Now mind you I know there are plenty of people who can be properly mentored, and can learn independently very well and be a contributor, but there are just some who really more or less are just there to take up valuable space.

Funny I seem to recall them ignoring that for some three odd years too...

Yea and it took them what? 1-2 years to do something? And what they did they do anyway? Disband their guild? They kept remaking it and it really didn't do anything.
If nexon really cared they would have perma banned most of them, but they didn't. Just goes to show how much Nexon really cares.

That server was an elitist hellhole before Excellent even came into the picture. They just made the problem noticeable.

That 95% (of active mains?) is going to get smaller, though, as leveling to 100 and 120 gets easier and easier.
Eos, could we ask you to keep track of the % of characters over 100 out of all characters? And also over, let's say, 150 and 175?
Would be interesting to see how that changes over time.
And if you have historical data, that would be interesting to see as well.

I'll be posting some comparisons in a week or two after we've had a statistically relevant & comparable degree of data for post big bang.
It's almost impossible to do an accurate comparison of overall because the ranks themselves lose count of players in upper hundreds of thousands and of course people below 10 don't really show up at all unless you dig, but I'll show some figures later tonight.

I imagine this is whats going to happen with the typical gms player
"I want X character to be my main!)
*Levels X character to level 12x*
"This character is so boring and annoying to train, but i heard/ saw / know a friend who has Y character and loves it, and they look so cool and fun and have levleing speed. I want one"
*Levels Y character to 12x"
"I'm bored with Y character, now I want..."
You can see where I'm going with this. Typical gms players have the attention span of fish >_>

I would say that's a very good way to state that.
Those who are higher levels (160 ~ 200) will just have to wait if they want to level "faster." Once Lion Heart Castle comes out, leveling speeds will start boosting. Until then, try playing other classes or try doing something you haven't done before.

By all accounts Excellent still controls the majority of Scania's economy and they still do bosses.
Yes it did take Nexon 3 years to even put a dent in Excellent's rampage, but problem is was Nexon's answer which never did solve the issue:
Don't wanna be KSed? Go to a Mini-Dungeon.
Can't go to a boss for a item? Here's Scissors of Karma so you can trade and buy them.
OH look Horntail tickets!
OH look Zakum altar got a timer.
And yet nothing was done.
And it's only going to be a matter of time till other guilds like them start popping up everywhere. They may not be as ruthless but they will create a big enough impact.
ShiKage, in order for us to get LionHeart castle, we still need to get into EdelStein.

Maple is built with 1st-3rd job content. There's nothing wrong with quitting when you run out of new game.
All the people getting to 150+ are presumably doing it because they're fine with the game as it is. hat would send a better message to Nexon is to train up your mules so you don't have any 1st-3rd job characters anymore, and just stop buying gear/nx on your high level char.
If high levels continue dumping in NX on their gear, then obviously they're ok with how the game is.

What. Excellent doesn't even exist anymore.
A handful of those were put in not because of Excellent, either. e.g. HT tickets came from MSEA.
