Just want to take a look at how effective this is.
- 25% boost to Avenger, Drain, etc. - confirmed ingame to be a 1.25x multiplier, which is a really nice damage boost.
- 20% chance to recharge 1 star, cause next attack to be critical - confirmed ingame to replace normal star consumption with +1 star, works with any throwing star attack
So. What good is that 20% chance of recharging a star?
Well, it means 1 in 5 attacks, instead of consuming stars, regenerates 1.
So 5x TT goes from 30 stars to 23 stars. Same for Avenger, which also consumes 6 stars with SP.
Maxed Shadow Stars lasts 3 minutes, and replaces all star consumption with 200 stars.
So if you're attacking more than 44 times in 3 minutes, you use less stars with Shadow Stars.
Low level Shadow Stars lasts 95~ seconds, same consumption. So now it's 44 times in a minute and a half.
At a boss, 100 TT/min = 1380 stars per 3 min with Expertise, 1296 with CO/expertise. So basically 20 sets lasts at least 44 minutes, or 46 with CO.
Then there's the damage to take into account.
You basically have 1 in 5 TTs getting 100% crit rate, instead of 55%+ (I have 65%).
So if the base is 5*65% = 325% worth of crit, it increases that by 35% to 360% of crit in 5 attacks. With a base average of 42.5% damage on crits, that's an increase from 27.625% damage added to each attack to 30.6% damage added to each attack.
So it's about a 2.3% overall DPS increase for TT, in exchange for using 1200 extra stars every 3 minutes (or about 550 extra every 95 seconds).

I'm at school so I can't confirm this, but TT wasn't on the list of things that it recharged, no? I saw Lucky 7 for sure, but not sure about TT.
When I get home I'll log onto my NL and test it.

I did test that TT can recharge stars, and subsequently have 100% crits.

When you say ignores star cost and regenerates 1, does it ignore the ENTIRE star cost for a skill (say, 6 stars with avenger) or simply negate 1 star and instead recharge it?
IE
Avenger+SP, 4 star cost (5 stars +1 regenerate)
or
Avenger+SP, -1 star cost (0 stars +1 regenerate)[/COLOR]

Instead of using 6 stars, it uses -1 star, yes.
So when I was testing (without SP), it goes.. 600, 597, 594, 591, 592, 589, 586, 587, etc.

I really wouldn't even take advantage of the extra DPS to be honest. It seems minimal compared to the number of stars used. Idk about you guys, but I have close to max use slots to hold all my pomegranate, but I only carry 20 or 24 stars, 6 of them being balanced Fury, then like 6 Ilbis, then the rest are Steelies for hard times if things go wrong. Usually on bosses like Zak or Scar or lower I won't run out of balanced fury. Of course though, I am using Shadow Claw.
I can't really afford to not use Shadow Claw, I don't want to look ghetto with my ugly stars, and I'm sure as hell not buying more Balanced Furies than I need.
Nice to know though for small things like Pap, even though the increase is really minimal. Good calculations Stereo.

Sorry for the dump question. Does this skill work with Shadow stars? Reading above seems to suggest no.

The recharging effect doesn't work with Shadow Stars.

The damage bonus does work with Shadow Stars, since it's a passive stack effect to your existing attack skills.

So, assuming we're using shadow stars, and attacking with TT. Does the 1.25 multiplier apply to it even though its not listed? And does the "crit" bonus apply in this scenario?
And how about without shadow stars using TT, multiplier and/or 100% critical chance?

The multiplier doesn't affect TT, and I haven't tested whether the 100% crits works at the same time as shadow stars. I have about a 1 in 4 chance of my TT doing all-crits anyway so it's hard to tell. Since I only have level 1 Expert, it's very unlikely to cast anyway.

Just a suggestion, it would be easier if you write out what skills (mainly TT and non TT) works/don't work with this skill in a table.

Other skills don't get the 25% boost. (TT is basically the only other skill though)
Any skill that consumes stars seems to be able to trigger the second part though (regen 1 star, 100% crit on the next hit).

Meh, hardly seems worth the trouble then. Someone on lolsleepywood said that the multiplier affected his TT...
