The leveling just got worse...

Jamie_Kurosawa Wrote:That has to be the absolute stupidest and ill thought comment I have ever heard, period, and I've heard my fair share! Seriously, that was flat out lack of intelligence, borderline mentally handicapping.

And you guys were the one's who complained you couldn't get to 4th job quick enough, 3rd job quick enough, 2nd job quick enough, much less 1st job quick enough. Herb good God in heaven did you're brain roll out of your ear or something? You guys then complained about not getting to Level 200 as well.

You want to tell us hard work, dedication, and elitism wasn't worth it? Then who was it that was able to get that Zakum Helmet, Horntail Necklace, and what other boss drops you spend millions and billions on the FM? Some noob? Some lowbie? Some inexperienced player? And you wonder why the high levelers treat you people like the noobs when you act like one, and deny it? To quote someone who said it to me once: POT, MEET KETTLE!

You trash high levelers for any excuse you can make up not even limited to them just being high levelers, then cry whine and complain about not being a high leveler? What the hell is wrong with you?

How many high level players have to say it back to back, time after time, and again and again until you wanna-be geniuses of everything Maple come to terms and realize, you are in the same situation as we are! You guys always want to cut our throats but fail to realize your cutting your own damn throats as well.

I wouldn't also be surprised if Herborist was leeched to where he is now. Probably didn't even earn his Paladin. Someone else earned it for him.

All I heard in this was justification of hypocrisy, and indirect accusation on Herb leeching. If you're going to be a major prick to Herborist, don't get mad when he does it back to you. You make a thread complaining about slow leveling, after making one saying that we're the complainers complaining about slow leveling, and that we don't work as hard and perfectly as you do because we want a more linear leveling curve. Of course high leveled players help noob players out, what does that have to do with anything? High level players aren't annoying for being high level, they're annoying because 80% of them have some self-righteous and elite mentality that they treat in a far more cruel and absoloute way than ''newbs''.

I'm dissapointed to read this post, if you're going to complain about the way lower levels view your elite-views, then get mad at their views on how they want a casual leveling experience, I suggest you stop playing Maplestory. Your logic is only as good as you're making it, and that's the problem. You're using an arguement that makes others look at the way they play based on elite views that only you share(and your circle of communication most likely).

I am not on Herbs side, I am not his super-pal or anything.I also understand that he is indeed posting in a way that can be percieved as rude to others. However, when comparing YOUR posts to his, I am not going to hesitate to think that Herb's posts simply hold more water.

Can't you do both? I am carefree, and I enjoy joining into useless arguing.

By the way, I don't think Herb is actually a Paladin yet since he started a new character and all and leeching is so dead it's decomposing.

Yeah, carefree people are always the best participants into a useless arguement. I only have a little bit of actual interest in the topic at hand myself.

To make things easier, I suggest we just hold off on all this argueing on who deserves their due untill Lionheart castle comes out. IF and ONLY IF Lionheart castle and boss grinding is NOT a liable training option for higher leveled players, then they would have a much better reason to be mad. Until then, any topic like this is just going to cause opinionated debate over who is right and wrong and won't really prove anything but show how badly we just love to rant at eachother.

Although, in my time of posting this I'm sure someone already ninja'd me replying to one of my posts..... x-x

EDIT: Well, I'm off to bed. If none of us are infractioned/banned or if this topic isn't locked within the time I get back on the computer, I will dedicate myself to reading the ineivitable reply I will get by someone(s) after I get home from work. Have fun guys.

Hmm, all this about post-BB levelling slower/feels slower really motivates me to play again, if it means getting a level in the higher region will be an accomplishment, then all is good instead of leveling in the higher up being nothing.

Silly argument is silly. You all realize that KMS had seen this "problem" right? We just have to be patient for Lionheart's Castle. To pass the time I'm redoing the reset quests and loitering around chatting/helping others with the redesigned map. As well as trying to convince people not to go to those KS fest areas in Singapore/Malaysia.

Herborist Wrote:So what you're saying is that the people who have been playing for a long time, know what they're getting into, and acknowledge that they're trying to reach the hard level cap and experience the end of the game should be cut a brake because it's hard?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

First: Dude no need to bash anyone. We're all people and we can settle things not by flaming each other.

Now on topic:

You know how low levels can level decently fast, but not fast so that it's easy? We would like to see a moderate speed level, not the BS we have now where higher levels have to train at mobs significantly lower than them for significantly lower rates. Yes the monster revamp made lower leveling easier, but it essentially made higher leveling much harder because the exp monsters give now is no where near that of whatwe had before (or if it is, then the HP:exp ratio is insanity).

So yes, Lionheart is a step in the correct direction as it settles the need for a decent level training spot where the ratios match up to the levels that ought be training there. I'm not saying level 195 people should be gettin gthe same rates as the lower levels (that'd be extremely stupid and destroy the point). What i would like to see is something that would give maybe 5%-10% without the need for 2x at extremely high levels. Right now the training is like 2% per hour MAX if they do it properly. That is downright hideous and ridiculous. You don't want to lose players to the boredom of the grindfest. Sometimes you have to toss something to your veterans to keep them in the game; give them something to look forward to.

It would be as if there was only bronze league in Starcaft 2. What would all the diamond players think about having to face bronze players every game? Not fun is it?

But there is no problem>.> Thats the whole point here. We as GMS have been spoiked wth 4x and what not. Those who HAVE to level like once a week and ultimate spaming mages are the only ones complaining. Yet someone like me who VERY frequently trained on 1x and still got to a high level on multiple characters. And even for 100 levels on my sader (6 years) I used nothing but a green headband I know what hard leveling is>.> This is NOTHING compared to slow leveling and is infact faster and better than what I thought. As well as more fun.

try the map above Jr. newties. I made 30% an hour there with my 143 paladin (max HH). BB ftw Big Grin

Also, I think it's not forbidden to train on higher levels. The misses are part of it, yea, but you shouldn't let them get to you. Look at it asextra challenging.

Power to the maplers!

Guys, can't you wait until January for Leon Heart?

It's not really that hard.

Spend the next few weeks making a resistance character, by the time you get bored Nexon pops out leonheart and everyone will live happily ever after.

It's not I want to be a total jerk back to herb, it's just he brings it on himself to make some half assed comment that doesn't hold water, has no foundation, and lacks any logicality and then expects people to agree with him blindly that he needs to be knocked back down a peg and have his head rammed into his own crotch to show him how small his manhood actually is. There are plenty of others like him as well that end up with the same fate, or need to end up in that way.

There's a difference between making a valid argument for a point and spouting off nonsense and forcing a meritless opinion.

And yes, my argument in my first post was reflective of the situation that KMS ran into after Big bang as well as JMS did, that now as we were destined, GMS is now suffering under, but also the age old point of where Nexon literally shafted the high levelers and continues to do so and will be because the low levelers and wanna-bes keep crying about everything and anything they can.

High levelers on the Nexon Forums, Sleepywood, Hidden-Street, etc. all are saying the same thing. The high levelers get broken promise after broken promise.

As I said the road to 140 is easy... it's after 140 you get a razor sharp spike rammed up your ass and told, "Deal with it." High levelers have lacked content and still do. This opening up the PQs is doing nothing beneficial for us. Sure we can get an S rank in each PQ, get a Veteran's/Legendary Hunter Medal after a million kills, and other stuff but really we are left with nothing but grinding and boss hunting after 140. The last quest possible in the game is at 140 which is the quest to kill Pink Bean. So after 140 we're supposed to compete like mad dogs for a medal, boss hunt and supply the economy, and work on repeatable quests that yield next to nothing EXP-wise, unless we want to grind like mad?

The additional problem of Lionheart castle is:

1. We don't have it.
2. We don't even know how the EXP is there.
3. From the existing data we do have, the monsters are not that great.
4. Eventually someone will complain and it too will be nerfed down.
5. 2x EXP Cards and Rep would be a good hold over until we even get Lionheart Castle.

Ease up on the flaming will you? Geez.
Also why are you complaining as a 145? How do you think I feel as a 184? Regardless, I dunno why you're complaining about it. I'm enjoying the new EXP curve and I'm actually getting a decent amount of EXP:HR ratio compared to Pre-BB, because quite frankly, it never changed for me minus the reduced EXP:TNL. I still 2-shot OB4 mobs on a regular basis, sometimes 1-shot due to FA / Divine Shield. I did all of the ToT quests tonight and gained 15% out of it. Pre-BB that would've EASILY been <10%. I'll easily take that extra 5-6% any day thanks.

You also forgot to mention that people are being spoiled brats and just want more more more. KMS never had x2 cards in the entirety of its life, yet we've had them for years now and people are bitching and moaning about the removal of them. If this was like KMS, in where we never got x2 cards, we wouldn't have this problem, because majority of those people would've already quit long ago and moved on.

70 replies to this thread, and I didnt see one that actually mentions the solution to this problem.

I too have a character near that level (143 atm). Have you tried Dark Cornians? The maps are GODLY. There is so much spawn, you dunno what to do with it.
I didnt want to release this secret awesome training spot, but i also cant sit here while people say that 14x training is slow. Go investigate, gimme some feedback.

then why not just wait for the patch after the chaos patch where they release the 16x training spot?

Maybe im dumb, but to me LHC doesnt solve the issue. The mobs have so much HP id assume you could make the same % at Oblivion Guardians.

Even then, the problem is it still requires a rather decently funded group to even get bank there. Even with a group of 6 people, you still have to be doing a good amount of damage for that 9-10mil HP to even be considered better than 2-manning OB4 or whatnot.

It's funny that this topic has spawned such an argument.

I'll say it directly :

The topic creator's problem has nothing to do with Big Bang. It has to do with him training at terrible non-paladin friendly spots and expecting good exp. -Period-
Why would you even expect dark wyverns to be good? They're 100% elementally neutral! You're a paladin!
Even blue dragon turtles would net you better exp/hour.

Do high levels train slower? Maybe, but not 14x for most classes, especially not paladins.

Lionheart Castle should be more than decent leveling. As well as Papulatus(, Pianus?) and Zakum now.

I know I've been saying this in other threads, but damn, if you can't stand the grind in the later levels of the game, then what's the point in playing a game? I mean, all games get harder toward the end. In MapleStory, hard = time.

On my Viper on JMS, I wasn't even hunting monsters my level (in fact, I was just hunting for equipment from level 110 ~ 130ish monsters) and my training speed went up fast as hell. I gained about 70% experience in two days doing nothing involving grinding. It really is faster, but you just have to know where to train and how to train properly. Hell, I don't even have good funds. I don't even have a single piece of potential gear.

The problem is not that the grind got harder, it's that it got harder not because I've leveled up but because of an "act of god", a random change by the game creators, who then have the gall to say "leveling got easier".

Before BB, Eos' "ETL" calculator estimated it would take me another year and a half to get from 180 to 200, at the rate I am able/willing to grind.
Now that the grind is 3x harder... well, looks like Nexon finally achieved their goal from when they first published the game (see the latest "dev blog") of an open-ended, unfinishable game.
