Okay so basically, earlier today after I downloaded v93, I installed Maple on my computer. When I tried to run it, I got the message "HSUpdate has encountered an error." when it gets to the HShield part. I really hate this error thing. Ever since v8-something I haven't been able to play MapleStory because of this very error. And now that Big Bang is out, I can't miss this. x___x;
BUT, I saw a thread in this forum that said to add a # to the hosts file next to a line that says 127.0.0 guard.nexon.net.
So, I did that but nothing worked, it still kept doing that. HOWEVER, I took away the # sign from that line and I just added 127.0.0 to it and I didn't get the message "HSUpdate has encountered an error." But Maple Story still won't work. When I go to Task Manager to delete the process to try and try again I see that MapleStory was bigger than before. Before the process was 18000-ish KB? And after I added the line 127.0.0 guard.nexon.net or w/e it was like 32000-ish KB. SO, I have a feeling that I'm getting there..
I need advice, help, etc. It's making me really irritated. :/
For some reason, I have a feeling that if I download already-updated v93 files off of another site, that it will work WITH the new line I added to the hosts file in the etc folder in Drivers which is in System32.
Iunno, just a thought. Probably nobody really understands what I'm talking about but if it helps;
My OS is Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate.
