Was Big Bang worth it?

The idea was good. The actual patching/game bugs/lack of SP resets were not quite.

To me they fixed a lot of things that have needed to be fixed since the beginning, but if you're going to go all out, go all out...

- Add skill reset even if for an NX fee, even though it should be free
- Get the monster book back in there (hopefully that's on the agenda)
- I really feel HP/MP should have been reset so that HP washing is negligible, I say this as a player who has done it a lot. I don't think anyone should permanently benefit from something that is no longer exploitable.
- It's hard to say at this point, but I hope all the odds and ends in the quest log are fixed. Since all levels can do all PQs I am hoping that this is the case for certain ones. Repeatable quests that couldn't be resolved in the quest log are hopefully taken care of (i.e. Amoria: Class specific quest). The handy light bulb on the mini-map is useful but I'm already noticing it isn't consistent with my "available" quests in my log. For instance, my Victoria Island "Available" tab is empty, yet I have a solitary light bulb over Kerning City on the world map. Peculiar.
- Axe vs Sword is a total bummer for me - no uniqueness there, but it's nice being equal I guess.

The ceiling for damage has taken a pomegranate all over the ceiling for difficulty in the game too, I hope that is addressed soon.

Those are my few gripes, but I do love the new resolution, the changes in the convenience for maps, the usefulness of the new world map, the new skillsets (as a hero I was not personally burned).

Feeling a bit ambivalent about the patch I guess. Will have to give it some time to sink in.

are you having the same situation where your 3rd job points only totaled up to 141?

i made sure my 1st job set = 61SP, 2nd job = 121SP, and 3rd job = 151SP but 3rd job only had 141.. the remaining leftover I was able to use on my 4th job skills but pomegranate what happened to those other 10?

I'm a little bummed out. I have to redo the temple of time quests on all of my characters if I ever want to train there again. Poison mist doesn't seem as effective as it used to be, so I have very little motivation to continue training my AM. The Alcaster quest, which allows you to purchase summoning rocks in El Nath, has apparently been wiped as well; I'll have to do that again, too. My two favorite training spots for my sniper, death teddies and time temple monks, are impossible for me to even hit at the moment despite my kickass sniper accuracy. I actually don't know where to train at the moment, and I don't know where anything is, either.

The only thing I was really looking forward to, the ability to PQ at any level, was a pretty big letdown as well. LPQ is a cakewalk, and Alishar isn't beefed up to compensate for the party's average level and strength. He died in seconds. The whole PQ took about five minutes on our second attempt ever, and on top of that, it still requires a group to enter. No soloing this cakewalk. Also, I miss the old strafe animation. And I miss Elquines. They took away my shiny blue husband and replaced him with some ugly red chain-loving hot-topic summon. Kill it, please.

Those issues aside, I adore the new screen resolution. Paralyze can mob, which is fantastic. My Sniper hits higher numbers, which is great, but everything else has more HP so it kind of evens out. Blizzard can crit. That's awesome. And the game didn't crash at all, so maybe they fixed the vista issues. Huzzah.

I ... don't know. I just really hate not knowing where anything is, or where to train. I thought it'd be fun to feel like a newbie again, but it's more frustrating than anything else.

edit: The skill points screwed me over as well. They actually took points away from one of my skills, gave me a few points to compensate for the loss/added skills, and then forced me to use those skill points on first/second/third job skills that I didn't even need. It was all very odd. I miss my Sniper's eagle. I don't care that it was useless for me. I miss it.

You can still HP Wash post Big Bang.

Actually if you level up HP Boost to max 20% you actually gain a TON of HP. You probably could MP wash a warrior now. And yes you do gain 20% HP on a level up. If all calculations are correct by level 170 you'd have the old max HP of 30000, however I heard they raised this...

I had heard HP washing was leaving, and HP would be reset, but obviously this was not the case. wow HP just seems out of control then. X_x

New cap on HP and MP is 99,999. Don't think anyone has reached that yet, but leave it to GMS to do it.

They made MP washing more effective (when you reset points into HP, you gain 50 instead of 20) regular HP washing is unaffected, other than that obviously with 20% extra HP, you'll get 20% more per AP (but no change from pre-BB washing).

HP Boost does exactly what it says - increase max HP +20%. It doesn't do anything on levelups.

The changes on my NL are kinda underwhelming... Dark Flare is pretty much useless and I need a full 2nd job SP reset get Shadow Resistance maxed. (missing 10 2nd job SP - when I was at 111 spent it said I was done)

Having started a new chanracter, I can honestly say it's wonderful so far. On my main character, however... not so much. Missing SP, crashing every time I tried to do TT quests ALL OVER AGAIN, the client not installing on my other laptop. Overall, though, I'd say this is a wonderful change. I just hope they address the SP issue and other bugs soon.

As a 200 the lack of SP resets didn't do a thing to me. I was able to allocate all my "returned" SP and have pretty much everything maxed.

Biggrin
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

I know some high leveled Bishops and Archmages who lack the basics such as Holy Focus, Teleport Mastery, Spell Mastery, and Buff Mastery, including myself.

The fact that they haven't even posted a notice yet is the most annoying, though I guess if they are actually fixing it, I'm ok.

I look at this as my reward for having had the patience to mind numbingly grind out, on the old xp scale they admitted was never meant to be be 'beaten' no less, all 200 levels, 80 of which in the same damn map, for hour after hour without even 4x to help me along.

The suffering of everyone else at Nexon meeting my expectations while defying theirs gives me a sadistic pleasure. Biggrin

Yea it pisses me off they do not acknowledge this. As a lvl 186 NL I lack 10 points from 2nd job and need to allocate points dumped in useless pomegranate skills like shadow meso, because we had no where else to put it. Now there are new skills that need those points.

To be honest this patch killed maple, this is the nail in the coffin. Now before everyone goes off about the great changes about big bang, and yes I'm aware there's some great ones, it seems one change possibly killed anything the game had too offer.

Bosses man, they nerfed them too hell and buffed us beyond recognition. I solo'd targa and scar last night, which does 1.2k damage, max at base with my achilles they barely hit me 600. This makes the game feel like a frekin private server, theres no challenge besides how much DPS you pump and how fast you pump it. Before at least there was potting, but I mean for crying out loud, I could spam sac all the way down to 5k hp then the game will keep me from continuing. Seriously they lowered the games standard to retard level.

There's easy, then theres no effort.

Personally, I'm still too pissed off about nexon killing my Evan. They force us to pay for essencial skills and then they reduced our Skill levels to 5 and deleted our SP. I'm not paying these conartists a dime untill they fix this issue.

And of course I have no intentions of giving them a positive score because of this.
