Goodbye 2x EXP Coupons!

Well colour me staggered, I really did not expect Nexon America to remove 2x Exp Cards, ever.

Well, there goes my random urges to grind for 2-4 hours on a 2x card... :v Almost no reason for me to buy NX now since I don't really buy much in the Cash Shop nowadays.

Though, the new experience curve will make it a lot easier to gain the exp...the next thing to do after Big Bang is released is to find new training maps...

I don't really think this is a bad financial move for Nexon. They're banking on the fact that Big Bang will bring in more paying customers. Easier leveling means more people are likely to stick with this game, I think. When you want to stick with MS, you are more likely to spend money on it. Plus, there are still split cash shops and many people will buy NX for many of their characters (which they will make since leveling is much easier).

Also, Nexon has said before that 90% of their profits come from 10% of players. I am sure that 10% buys 2x EXP cards, but that is not their bulk expenditure. What I think is really netting them all this money is cubes, gachapon, and other things you have incentive to keep buying lots of. You don't need more than 1 or 2 2x EXP cards, but you can easily blow cubes and gachapon tickets.

Don't worry, they will bring them back.
Except they'll give less of a boost and cost more.

What....?

From NX watch: 4 hour 2 x EXP special coupon (1 day) - [1400 NX]
They lied!

I'm still undecided whether or not this is a good thing. Family 2x is now 1.2x.... and can't have an unlimited supply of party 1.2xing. Now 2x cards are going away. Monsters have higher HP/exp ratios. Bosses like anego/BF were crippled. Exp gain might not have changed at all post BB! Although I don't mind the freedom of training whenever I feel like it without the dependence on 2x cards and buffs.

I expect those will be available for a limited time as a christmas event or some such.
And they'll keep coming back every once in a while, like Meso Bags, Gacha boxes, Vega's, Pam's, Royal Hair coupons, permanent CS clothes, free or 99 NX 1-day or 2-week CS clothes, and so on and so forth. Nexon never really retire anything that brings in money, they just make it available intermittently to create artificial scarcity and raise demand.

lol indeed.
Hilarious how the same people that promised NX would not provide an ingame advantage end up calling a CS item essential (well, formerly essential).

I like.

2x cards totally killed grinding without them for me. Now I can just enjoy grinding on 1x without feeling bad.

read the 1st sentence and the beginning of the 2nd sentence:

Nexon Wrote:One of the main features of Big Bang is an improved experience curve. With anywhere from 2 to 5 times faster

Meaning they're obviously talking about post-BB, not before.

Not sure how I feel about this. I like how I don't have to buy 2x, but I feel that because of this, my friends will be disappointed and end up quitting again, seeing as there's no 2x and he has no rep.

And only the self-buffs (30 and 15 minutes) exist.
Party exp buff is no more.

I think the removal of the 2x exp cards probably caused the most contention in the Nexon America team. They said there were headed discussions about aspects of BB. No doubt they will come up with something else to replace the $$$$ lost to 2x cards.
