Sonic Colors
#1
Has anyone bought this yet? I've seen the commercial, and it reminded me how hyper I was around E3 time. Just watched a game play of it on the Wii and it looks pretty damn fun. I hope it can live up to Adventure/Adventure2.

If anyone has bought this, please give us some insight!

Isaac was mildly interested in this a while ago but I know for sure he hasn't played it yet.

I've never understood the appeal of sonic games. You move too fast to enjoy the scenery... or do anything really. Don't get it!

I have one major problem with this game: MOVING FORWARD AUTOMATICALLY. It's so stupid. You missed that coin back there? Just play through the level again. sonic isn't just fun because you run really fast, it's also finding the different secrets and areas in levels. This is just lame.

...so you basically jump, turn left or right a little bit.... and that's it?

I guess that can be said of all racing games as well.. The appeal is the fast paced gameplay, impressive music, and there's also a little bit nostalgia if you've played Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis Tongue.

From that video above, Sonic Colors doesn't appear to be very good. It's a shame since I absolutely loved Sonic Adventure 1/2 - more 2 than 1 though. If it were more like SA2, I'd consider getting it.

Ever play sonic and the secret rings? It's pretty much that.

I've played the Wii verison and guess what? I've beat it like in 5 hours and 30 mins...no kidding, the play time is a bit short for me. Also that I find it a bit unusual that there is like 6 acts in each zone. Would've been better if there was like 3, oh wait, that would make the play-time even shorter.

Also the bosses lack the" unique-ness" thanks to other "clones" of a boss in other zones which will give you deja vu. Heck.....the freakin first boss gets killed in like 2 or 3 hits?
Also.....

Heck I think the DS verison is a bit better cause of the bosses live longer (I guess? Haven't played it)

Short game is short. Beat it within a week of casual play. The missions too. It was hard in a couple of spots, but I got over them. Don't worry, the super sonic boss fight was annoying. You had to not only avoid a bunch of projectiles to get to the Nega Wisp Mother, but get close enough to have pin point accuracy to hit Y at the right time to hit her. It took forever.

I'd been hearing that Sonic Colors is actually fun and the gameplay makes it look that way to me. o_o It's got a 2D perspective, which I miss OH SO MUCH. <3 Kind of like what Super Mario Galaxy 2 does.
