Thought about it, but honestly, just setting aside 3 computers for the AFK thing is more time than I have to spend right now.
But I do have a question. No sarcasm or rudeness intended, simply curiosity. But how do you guys intend to fund potions for yourselves in an empty market to level at these rates?
I haven't really created a from scratch character since my main without funding at least 100k-300k, and I've certainly never held those leveling rates. I know quests currently can take you to about level 28 or so in free potions, but beyond that what's your plan? Fairly certain that even with the added potion drop rates (that should have come with equips/potential), those low rate potions wouldn't be practical enough to help. I'd like to know this in case I follow through with my sub-class completion follow up since I'm hoping to get all of them mounts and I'm down to 8 Mil.
Either way, best of luck to you all. Hope you enjoy the way the new game plays. Better than back in the day when I had to stand to heal till level 35 for sure...

Meso drop rates from the monsters after Big Bang are more than enough to fund for potions, especially now that potions are about 1/10th of their pre-Big Bang prices. Not only that, but potions drop from all monsters like a mother f'ucker. They made MapleStory extremely noob-friendly.

I remember those days... just like yesterday.
Honestly, what i will probably do is make iono....6 level 10s to make 600k, and then work on my real char. I just made a wind archer to level 40 without any sort of 2x exp or anything, and hes only used 800k. This seems like it should work.

Believe or not, I managed to work myself out, without any mesos given from Nexon at all.
But before level 30 I had to do some, ladies and gentlemen
The potions that drop like rain are enough for a long long time, well into your 40's. (This is from Tespia experience).
You get 100k from Teo at level 10 and another 200k at level 30.
CPQ requires no potions.
Voila, level 70.

The only flaw in that plan is that you won't have a Dark Crystal for the job advancement. :X

You don't need to job advance for the bandana, which seems to be what everyone is concerned with.
Personally I'm planning on questing, not speed-levelling (if I do join a new server). My Tespian at 62 has more meso than I ever took from Cody, even using the taxi indiscriminently, so I'm pretty confident I can manage in a new server, especially with Teo's prizes. Could grind at Drumming Bunnies (as pure grind or for the 500 drum quest) for those DC ores.
Brilliant. Wish I'd had that knowledge a while ago.

Me too. I never had a regular group and got expelled a lot. Not sure why.

I would prefer to quest, but could a noob make it to 70 by the end of the event? How hard is it to get DC's? I never paid much attention when I gathered them because they weren't the things I needed.

Well... Let's put it this way : You may be well past level 70 before you actually get Dark Crystal Ores, depending on how much you focus on leveling.
I've decided to try out a Crossbowman on Nova if I can manage to get GMS to work. Now, I'm just at a loss of a name. D;
Anyway, I have started a bunch of characters (close range ones) pre-potential, if you quest and loot you shouldn't have any problems at all, at least until the 5x - 6xs. Although that also depends on how and where you train (say, if you go to truckers at your 4xs you will lose money). Now with potential you CAN hunt for your weapons and armors easly so no need to spend money on those things = more pot money.
Imo, funding for potions is no problem now and will not be a problem post-BB.

I'm fairly confident it can be done. Got to 58 in 10 days in Tespia, and with plenty more quests to go. (Got to 62 by the time it closed, but I'd been playing maybe an hour a day for the last few days, so that hardly counts). At worst, might have to grind for the 5 last levels or so, shouldn't be too hard (and can be a way to get DC ores, if you grind on the right mobs).
DC ores are a problem, but as I said, you don't need to job advance to get the bandana, so you have time to find them after levelling to 70.

Fund...potions? I don't understand how to actually lose money while training.
