Hello everyone, just registered so I thought I'd say hi Biggrin

Some RL information: I'm 20/m and currently a sophomore in college. I am going to get my bachelors in Social Work, then go back after just to get my masters, so I have about another 4 years before I'm actually in the work force. My goal is to get my PhD eventually. I also work part-time at best buy right now.

Maple related : I have been playing maple on and off since the release of bellocan. I use to play in Bellocan but switched to demethos/galicia when they both came out (Alleviate ftw). I am going to come back when bigbang is out and hopefully play in a new server if one comes out.

tl;dr I'm awesome Heart

Welcome to Southperry.

I do have a question though. What exactly does "Social Work" entail? Is it just a broad field, or is the name just vague?

Hm, from what I understand, it deals with community organizing, actually going out there and helping or educating people in a community, organizing campaigns to improve social quality, and so forth. It's a pretty broad field, by that; I'd guess. An example of a social worker off the top of my head would be what Obama was doing before he became Senator of Illinois. I'll leave this to the OP to answer to their definition, though.

Well, luckily social work is a really broad field. I could be working with the elderly in a nursing home, a hospital, become a counselor in a school, or even in a foster program to help kids. The pay isn't bad but it's not great. I'm pretty much doing it just so I can change the lives of a few people (hopefully).
