Online dating sites.

Here's what I think of it so far, based on personal experience. I actually find most profiles on okcupid to be a bit too plain. I try to literally weed out everyone that I dislike, whether it be because:
-They smoke excessively
-Drink excessively
-Too much tattoos
-Different interests
-Different goals
-Same sh`it, different day profile updating
-etc

I can't recall how many I've "blocked" or ignored, must have past 150+ people by now. There are some relatively interesting people, as long as they don't have overly unrealistic dreams. I've actually engaged in some decent conversations with some females. There's one right now I met through there, and we sorta added each other onto our FaceBooks. We're having pretty casual conversations about art, music, & manga. I actually asked her if she'd like to meet up one day so we could talk a bit more. Just being friend-friend, ya know.

But like Eos said, you're trying to get rid of people that you don't like, as opposed to people that has common interests. I've seen people with similar interests, but their personality irked me.

Its interesting to see where this goes. I'm rather curious, but personally prefer to meet people through other people or something. I'd feel awkward introducing a possible fiance to my parents as, "I met him through online dating." I like to keep it traditional. You ought to keep updating this Khoi, I'd really like to know what your research concludes to Smile

Sure thing. I don't mind trying this, because it opens up new possibilities. Of course, once again, I stray away from online relationships, so this is purely for dating people that are close to my area. I'll update as much as I can, but I did sorta asked when this other chick was available. And she said she wouldn't mind going out for a lunch with me around mid-end December, since we're both off school then.

Also tried IRL dating, problem with this is that I look at people's hand-gestures, facial expressions, and appearance too much. This is bad. Because I always get a bad impression from others some how. A chick I know really well named Emily, and this was last Summer, we actually dated a couple of times, but it never worked out too well. Basically because she was at a university that was 30-40 mins away, and I wasn't willing to maintain such a relationship had it gotten that far. Eventually, guess she gave up on the idea, and got together with some other guy she met from her university. We're still great friends though.

Then there's this other girl I know, but she's like 17 or something, and has a crush on me. Pretty much told her to back off, because I only considered her as a friend. So yeah, I'm doing the exact reverse of other people, apparently.

I've met my current girlfriend through the internet. We've been together (on and off) for almost 4 years. Pretty awesome.

Really now? Interesting. This gives me further motivation to make a lot of progress with my experiment then.

Yeah, it's even more interesting that we met through a people ''sexiness'' ranking site. http://www.sexyono.com

It's kinda silly if you look at it quickly, but I've learned to be more open-minded about issues like this since that.

I had a friend who used a dating site prolifically because she had trouble finding dates, and let me tell you: most of the guys she found were creepy nutjobs. She tried to sell me on it once, but I'd rather stay dateless than succumb to that kind of thing.

I don't take couples who met through Maplestory seriously. Our online personae are nothing like we are in real life.

My fellow and I have been together on and off for the past 3 years.
And we met through maple.
And let me tell you, he's one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I kid you not.

Do you know him in real life? Are you going to meet? What if you don't like each other in real life? Maybe you're just together out of the fear that neither of you will be able to get anyone else?

I'll need way more information before your relationship can be accepted as an exemption, but don't take it as a personal assault.

We've hung out together. Spent a few weeks together.
Try to see as much as we can of each other without school getting too crazy. Usually hang out over breaks.
Our chemistry through text is just the same as face to face.
And no, I've been with other guys when we weren't together, and they just don't measure up to the delight he brings me.

I'm too much of a bitter misanthrope to argue this unbiased. Good luck with your relationship, pinky.

Me and the girl that I met through a dating site, we haven't gone out yet. However, we're slowly taking time getting to know one another. We both plan on hanging out shortly, some time after Christmas and right before New Year's. We haven''t came up with a day and time yet, but so far, if there's anything I've found out about her. She seems to be a huge art major, and really had great talents at what she's doing. She likes most of the same stuff that I do, and apparently, she's as crazy of a driver as I am, which is really . . . bad. Lol..

But yeah, MY plan is to go watch a movie at a theater first. I wanted to see "Little Fockers", personally. But she isn't into comedies as much, as I am okay with watching "Black Swan". Then after, we're gonna get sushi at a Japanese restaurant, the movie will give me something to talk about. Also, she told me a bit before about her personal life issues and what-not, and I did the same on my behalf, so we both know quite a bit about each other. It's kinda scary how her life really isn't overly different from mine, aside from her having more siblings, as well as more stress.

Not sure whether I should be optimistic about this or not. Even if things don't end up going a certain way, as long as she ends up being a really good friend of mine, that could also work. I wouldn't mind having a new friend, but it's scary how both of us are able to relate to each other. Only difference here is that I am a typical slacker, and she's the 100% exact opposite. She studies so much, she has bags under her eyes at times.

I actually do, she's extremely smart. She's always one-upping me too, somehow. Like if I show her something art related, she already knows about it. It's kinda scary. But yeah, conversations are extremely natural and easy. Gonna go for it, for sure. Thanks for the encouragement boost, Rob!
