God that just reminds me at how pomegranatety nexon was at existing 20 years ago. what a godawful company. can't rely on them to exist in a decent time frame at all.

That would probably be the first thing nexon has ever done to really upset me. Wait, second.

I have a test that day and then my finals are all the next following week.

Oh well, I expect an extension to the patch, but otherwise I predict it'll be like the DB patch. Smoothest yet.
Personally I think they've gotten ALOT better about patching and SCs.
Don't you guys remember that 24hr sc? That was like 2 years ago.

Quit bein' a bunch of debbie downers and appreciate we're getting BB so soon =P[/COLOR]

You would think at this point, someone would've already made a nexonscrewupwiki.org.

I'm already seeing it now.. "Patch is extended for 10 hours." "Emergency server check."

Then they will forget to extend the ring event and only a few people will actually have a chance to get the full ring... I already see it happening.

It's going to be a repeat of the Adventurer ring event. (Which still pisses me off because I got the ring, got rolledback, then couldnt get it again because I went on vacation, but thats another story)

Well, no more procrastinating on left open quests I guess. Still hating on the loss of monster book as an "unnecessary component of the game". Also I still hold the position that BB should have never been pushed for release in the first place since it was obviously incomplete when KMS released it as was later proven by further tweaking.

... But yeah, just bitter still that they apparently choose not to take the JMS route with the cards. Oh, and Snipe.

I suppose since the old PQs are opened up again for me I'll have something to do assuming they hold decent activity. But all the same this is more or less end-game for me.

Here's hoping skill builds are fully completed by the time I come back so I can reset my alts of every class.

Hopefully we can all just do the PQ medal now instead of the Quest medal Rolleyes

Not rushing it would mean they probably would have gotten it done in 2011 which would kill the revenue they could have made by release in the holidays. Besides, did you think the game was complete after the first skill revamp? Or the second? Third? They will continue to mess with the skills until they're satisfied.

I'd still like people to do the quests throughout the game, but if it means that people only looking for the stats of the medal will move to something else, I suppose that's fine. Besides, the whole "Undead Killer" Medal chain just became a cakewalk with BB so I don't see why people wouldn't just do that one.

But really, I hope that people take interest in the PQs again because of this and they aren't as deserted as they have been.

I'm fine with the monster changes and skill changes to an extent (there were still some pretty odd issues even within this), but the changes to the overall feel of the game were incomplete. While leveling and flow of grind have been improved, the plot consistency and basically all other aspects were not given enough time to be put through based on what I've seen. I know the game has never really had great quests, and sure, I realize that the game is a grindfest to most and this is all that needs to be done to make the game better, but to me at least it isn't all about the grind. I don't want everything that was there before dismantled simply to make the game easier. I'd like to look back upon the last 5 years I've spent in this game and say that I've done something more than levels or money. I'm not sure really how to put this into words, but different people value different things. If the things I value in games I play have not been given their proper attention like with BB, then I see no reason for me to continue playing.

tl;dr Don't remove features for the official client just because you're in the middle of changing them.

Actually if they would have allowed for time for Big Bang to be perfected and finalized in KMS before introducing it here in GMS, it wouldn't have cost them any money. The game should have been in Tespia as of a year ago testing, debugging, and recoding problems out of existence before they even considered Big Bang. This would have allowed more time to get areas out in the official game to make GMS more of a universal client. It wouldn't have cost them any money, but it would have ensured the best compatibility and stability for the final client.

I do also feel we will see several emergency server checks before the day of Big Bang's release is truly complete. Windows 7 compatibility still isn't what it needs to be and probably still isn't, GMST still had a lot of bugs, nobody currently can access the Cash Shop on main characters, disconnects and lag are more pronounced to various users. In short, this release will probably end up just like all the rest have been since Magatia came out and proved that Nexon was only copying and pasting from KMS.

Too many people are giving into the hype of Big Bang IMO. What people need to be more adamant about is getting the client stable and compatible so when we can get Big Bang it works great and doesn't require a billion patches, server checks, and down times to get it right.

WOOT! I'm so happy.. holy crap. 5days.. seemed like it would never come.

BUt seriously ever since the 30th/1rst I didn't expect it to come on the 7th.. I thought they'd notice us about then so I really gave my hopes up.

@ all the people whining that they will fail it.. shut up please. My god you can't judge something that hasn't even happened yet.. even if they have done things in the past.. they've done good in the past too. Quit Maple if your that bitter about it lol.

unlike 99% of the people in this thread that need to take a dump on nexon every chance they get, i can't wait until this update comes. sure there will probably still be bugs and whatnot but i got used to that a long time ago. Rolleyes

CarrionCrow Wrote:Why would it be? It went through Tespia so they know it works, though it aint very smooth. I'd bet on extensions and possibly emergency maintenances, but not an actual delay of the patch.

So why wouldn't they deploy it right now? The difference between porting an update to servers with tons of data & databases, and porting to an empty one is gigantic.

I'll tell you why: Copying code from one project to another similar isn't just "copy-pasting".

It's not we're taking a dump on Nexon, it's their track record for having bad releases and compounding bugs and glitches resulting in server checks, repatches, and other stuff is very well documented and stands out far too much more than stable releases have.

or if they keep them, make mini dungeons Big Grin

Too bad they won't do that... This just means they'll be KS fests from here on out. Prime place to train, impossible to find a map.

don't let that get in the way of other users' logic and learned obedience

No offense and I really mean NO offense. Everytime I see you post about NEXON it's always "windows 7 this windows 7 that remake the game this remake the game that, bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs I hate that bug!" Seriously Jamie just give it a rest girl =\ I mean calm down. Sure its bad but don't make every post when a server check/ patch comes out about only how many bugs you predict and how messed up the win 7 problem will be. Just let it be what it'll be and in time it'll all straighten out.
