i've recently discovered the Crimson Guardians while training with my DrK hubby. i'd LOVE to take some Windian ILs there or perhaps any Windian class that could film me for a video training guide--i lack the recording ability on my PC. It is absolute high-intensity and using so many skills that i felt i was in a freaking mage marathon. and i totally pwned my hubby who is well abv avg for his attack.
if another IL wants to try i'd love to see some videos appear for this.
Forgive me if my descriptiont hat follows is vague, it's the best I know how to describe it....
I placed my lil HS mule on the bottom and to the left.
I started running right on the bottom non-spawn plat jump-casting SEAL and
then hopped up to the spawn plat and casted ID with my Ifrit out.
I ran left using ID and letting my ifrit attack for me; spamming seal as needed.
Jump down to the safe plat and rinse and repeat!
It's basically like running a track and you just keep going around and around/
HUbby took the top platform to keep up with the spawn however i was killing much faster. With an actual priest instead of a mule i think this would go even faster as i'd have to use all-cures considerably less.
this way of training is high-action sorta like himes was when they first arrived. no real break and u need to keep on ur toes!
I'm unsure at what level this would begin to be a beneficial way to train as I've had no other examples other than my own as, sadly, not too many super active ILs in Windia beyond those who leech at newties.
at my level all skills have been long maxed and my ifrit does approx 75k dmg with ID in use, therefore 2-hitting mobs of crimsons.
hope to see some of this in action videos soon as well or anyone volunteering to film me as a guide.
I'd also like to see if any FP can try--possibly tons easier since your summons freezes!!
thanks, guys!

You can't freeze monsters that originally have an immunity or resistance to ice. You, as an I/L, should know that well by now. >_>
Thought it does sound like fun (using Arch Mages like they're supposed to be used), the fact that they can skill lock is enough to deter me from it. Also I don't like casting Seal (makes feel slow, lol).

i think many people are under the impression that "guardians are resistant to ice/fire!! our damage will be weakened!! how can we train there effectively!?".
can you provide an exp per hour rate at gaurdians? just so guardians can be compared to things like skeles and newties.

Effectively for an archmage is different than effectively for other nonbishop classes. The most exp we can get out of here is probably around 10mil/hour, assuming max demon and summon, which just doesn't cut it when compared to ultimate spamming. Certain other classes such as heroes and shadowers train here because they don't have an ultimate and the mobbiness of this map makes up for not having an ultimate spammer to party. Also, the high damage looks like it'll be just as expensive to train here as training at newties/skelegons, if not more expensive.
Just curious, what exp rate did you get with that party setup?

Is hitting 75k with ifrit and ice demon even possible?
I guess i will give the crimson guardians a shot, but i do believe it wont be better then skele / newties and cost might be more because your taking constant touch damage and need alot of all cures too.

my hubby will jump for joy if he sees this post as he is obsessed with these things (him: i hate these eggs *whines* i wanna kill big things like CGs. this is embarassing for a warrior to kill eggs...)
We'll go and test tonight or tomorrow night. when i went i petered out after about an hour as i had foolishly brought only all cures (now ill bring holy water) and i ran out so fast! plus i'll admit--my fingers became spoiled spamming an ultimate and being able to chat between spawns. CGs are VERY strenuous/fast compared to the chill speed of ulti-spamming. i'll try to get a guildee to record so i can post here.
overall for an hour I actually rec'd MORE exp 2%/hr on 2x which is roughly 32m. tho to be honest i'd have to say it was the lack of talking-the lack of running back n forth 4-5x an hr to do basil trades or FM crap-and the lack of overall distraction. i was focused solely on the monsters and killing fast as possible-kind of like early himes when they were "new".
oops--big ass duh to me on the freezing summons....i look at forums when im at work and i wasnt thinking. if they could freeze then of COURSE i'd be freezing F3.
as for 75k ifrit--that was the highest (dont we love to say our highest hit when we talk?) i avergage around 68-72k on ifrit. he does about 33-37k on neutral, mind u all my skills are maxed and my level puts me up there in terms of maxed out MA. (no where near the strongest when u consider ma/lvl but since im 19x by default it's high)
k i think thats it. depending on which night i can get someone to fraps for me i'll go. by all means im not a huge fan of these things. i go simply to please my partner since he basically carried my weak ass thru 3rd job and he absolutely detests newties. but i admit, it was a sit-back-n-be-proud mage moment for me since i realise we aren;t just ultimate-slaves and can be quite crafty with our 4th skills
*another note--i was asking the guild if any other mages want to join me to make a video and found that a mage couple have been hanging out there--LunarExE and RyuExE (they didnt mind posting their IGNs). they are an IL/FP duo and seem to be utilizing opposing demons to reverse the elemental strength. id love to see a video of 2 AMs at CGs as that seems the epitome of pro-mageness ^_^ i'll try to test an hour of the lower level FP casting seal and fire demon and i try to utilize blizzard. i haven't seen it myself yet, but if that gives full neutral strength it'd be interesting

I believe Crimson Guardians has alot of potential to be a great training spot. It has not become a bandwagon area yet. So alot of people do not know how to maneuver this area. I hope more maps like this will come out. Hopefully teamwork will be the main focus instead of what one or two classes can benefit from party buffs.
Pre 4th job, I had the idea of an I/L & F/P am training together and utilizing each other's skills to gain maximum potential.
I cannot wait to see your testing outcome.

Probably the best way for I/L and F/P to train is that the I/L would spam Ice Demon, while have Ifrit out, and the F/P would be spamming Meteor. This is only because Ifrit has a high spell attack than Elquines.
Another food for thought is that F/P's can "paralyze", regardless of immunity or resistance. So people can play around with that to find the best way to train at CGs.

^Fire demon is much stronger than ice demon or chain lightning on mobs of these guardians. Ifrit's power doesn't compare when the actual spells are like three times faster and hit up to 6. F/Ps are undoubtably better than I/Ls at this place, assuming same levels of corresponding skills.
How much exp/hour do you normally get at newties?

Ah, I guess you're right. I never actually accounted for Fire and Ice Demon's attacking speed. Usually I'm under the impression that Ice is faster than Fire for some reason. Thinking about it now, F/P would be the better choice.
I haven't trained since May, so I don't really know my exp/hr there anymore. >_>

Well I just happened to be here, so I tried killing them. But I'm not yet convinced this is a good training spot. The damage they do is just very high, and w/o hb I'm dead in 4 hits which means i was constantly potting and that's not good when you're using ID/CL. I have to say my seal is only lvl10 (will be maxing soon tho), so that might've slowed me down some. Right now I was spamming all cures left and right lol.
Maybe with better training conditions (hb + hs mule) + topper, it will be better like you said.
But even so, if 32m/hour is the best you can get there, I'm sticking to newties as I can get more out of them.
Also, if you're hitting 33-37k with ifrit on normal, your max will be 50-55k on fire weak, not 75k

haha was waiting for that to be spotted! i went back to take a video and im like wtp im only doing 45-50k and i realised duh--i was on those battery things from the TCG. my guildmate gave me 80 of them! (<3) also hence why i went there. stupid me wasn't thinking that had ANYTHING to do with it right?! but yes my avg is now say 47k ish WITH the demon. (can u beleive they pay me to work on new medications and i do formulas all day yet out of work my brain is mush?)
that aside we had set a date for saturday to film using the complementary demons to see if they effectively remove the elemental strength and make them go neutral but alas we are waiting to see if the emergency SC fixed the CWk auto ban issue.
maybe not the most efficient training method, but a way to bring about some fun ass mage parties and take a break from the peaks of leafre. also to sharpen ur skills a bit since some of us (me) grow lazy after 40 levels of spamming blizzard.
