I've never Zakumed before, and I want to buy a Z-Helm, but I am unsure of the requirements to actually survive Zakum, and also where to find them on my computer so I can check if I can survive Zakum.
Soooo, help please?

Um go to Run and type in "dxdiag" it should bring your specs. Requirements to survive is like 19xx hp w/o hb. If your on vista i really recommend getting Service Pack 1 because alot of people (including me) have dced right when Zakum dies.

Most of the time people forget this, but if you have Vista and Service pack 1, make sure to put your settings to "High Performance".

It's somewhat graphical heavy (For a 2D game ) and you're on vista so I'd say atleast 1gb RAM.

IGB of RAM should set you straight, a decent graphics card [by now you should know if it works for you], and other than that you're probably okay unless you have a single core ~1.9GHz processor, lol.

You can zakum with a Dual Core CPU @ 1.73 GHz as long as you have a decent graphics card.

[COLOR="Indigo"]@above--you ought to state what "decent" means to you!
I've gone to Zakum with 64MB and 128MB integrated graphics cards with no issues. The machines had a 1.6 GHz Centrino processor and a 2.0 GHz Intel 2 Core Duo processor respectively. Both run Windows XP and have 1GB RAM.
@ the OP--run dxdiag and click the Display tab. Your graphics card is listed there. The size for the card's memory (listed in MB) will be on there as well as the company name (Intel, NVidia, etc) post that info here, if you would.

You are good to go.

[COLOR="Indigo"]I agree with the above poster. You should have no issues.
I will advise that you shut off any other programs (messengers, browsers, etc) just in case =p

Mileage varies with computers and graphics cards. Everything counts. If you have a high-end computer filled with crap and viruses running in background, performance will decrease a lot. I've seen it myself.
Anyway, what I meant for a decent graphics card is a card with enough juice to render zak heavy frames. All DirectX 9 video cards have enough juice for it, but most DirectX 8 and lower graphics card might lag you a lot, and might dc you because the graphics card cannot render that fast and it simply stalls.
Bottom line, most recent (within 3~5 years) computers can safely play in zak altar. As always, be sure to have NOTHING running when you play MapleStory. MS likes a LOT of RAM, specially in heavily rendered maps like zakum altar.

I can run Zakum Altar on high.
My specs:
1GB RAM (2*512mb)
2.66 GHz Processor
512mb nVidea 8600 GT
I've heard of people running Zakum on much lower quality PCs. Just set all your settings to Low and ensure nothing is running in the background. Also, maintaining your PC ad/spy/malware-wise will keep your speed up. Consider defragging a day before a run, and running some PC cleaning software. Google will be your friend.

a bit more memory would help but otherwise, you're good to go.

My old desktop computer was five years old, with 512 mb of RAM, GeForce Ti 4200 128 MB video card, and AMD XP 2600 (or 2400, can't remember) which clocks at 2.0 GHz. It was crap compared to today's standards and I was able to Zakum with minimum lag.
Pretty much any decent video card today with a dual CPU is overkill at Zakum.
