Paralyze = 1292% dps + 160% @ 100% mastery poison, 350% range, 5 second stun, allows free tele casting, damage reduction on multiple mobs.
Big Bang = 1264% dps, 200% range on either side, no stun, requires charge up, cannot be freely telecasted.

Big Bang should be more useful at Lionheart Castle where mobs don't die in 2 hits, but Paralyze is definitely more useful on single targets and for other training areas. Fire Demon isn't all that useful anymore since Paralyze mobs, unless you need a fire weakness to 1hko with Big Bang.

Paralyze does 620% @ 810ms + 160%/s DoT.
Big Bang does 290%x5 @ 810ms + <1000ms charge.
Paralyze: 765%/s + 160%/s DoT
Big Bang: 801%/s and I'm fairly confident they reduced the charge time for Big Bang to something like 600ms, unless they reraised it in Big Bang.

My point was that Paralyze's base DPS was lower than Big Bang; once you've gotten the stun and DoT off, Big Bang is better for DPS.

Big Bang takes a full second to charge (I think it's 1040 ms, to be exact). It used to take 2. Plus, that's assuming you're releasing it as soon as you finish charging. Paralyze being weaker on a single target would be really bad design.

I need advice on what I should buy for my LowLuk F/P. I do plan on just leaving my luk at 36 or 40. Besides my Z-Helm there isn't any equips I have for it. Overalls, shield, earrings, shoes, and weapon would be the things I need.

Also with all the recent changes to the game I'm somewhat lost. With the Big Bang patch coming I'm confused if going RegLuk is better, but from what I've read there is still a lot of uncertainty. Now in regards the Potential system, which I think I understand quite well now, will that completely override all equipment that predates it? Should I not even bother getting equipment with no potential? Does anyone know how drastically Explosion is going to change in the Big Bang patch? Would investing in a weapon with a fast attack speed be wise, or is that part of explosion changing too?

General Information
Lvl34 Fire/Poison.
-I plan to go the Hybrid build route.
-Lvl28 and under magician equipment.
-36 Luk.
-35mill+ budget. This amount is just an estimate I'm currently selling my old equipment, if needed I can get more money.

Potential has made scrolling your gear a lot less important, but I wouldn't worry about gear until you hit level 70. The most important equips to focus on getting are a +3% int overall, glove, shoe, cape, and earrings, and a Scar/Targa hat. It's okay to go LUKless until you have 2-3 of these, since there's quite a few high level wands/staves that don't require LUK. There's really no difference between "Reg-LUK" and "Low-LUK"; keeping your base around 40 works fine.

I'm not really sure how much you plan on levelling before Big Bang, but MP Eater is a lot more important after Big Bang since high level monsters have upwards of 10k MP so you may want to look into going either Fire or Poison, not both. Explosion is pretty much the same post-BB, except that it does a hell of a lot more damage.

So I should just sit tight till Lv70, okay. Also I'm under the impression that once the skill changes come we will get a skill reset, so I'm going hybrid so that I can get to Lv70 the fastest. Then once the reset comes I plan to completely scrap poison brace altogether. 3rd job training is gonna be more actual fighting instead of misting after the big bang patch.

With the new changes explosion looks like it is gonna be our main skill doesn't it?

You'd have to find iAmFear or whoever it was that made an F/P in KMS to know. I'm under the impression that Poison Mist will still be a great way to train, except you actually need damage equips for it now. 2400% damage with 100% mastery and 100% ignore target defense over 15 seconds when maxed, and the mist still lasts 40 seconds -> seems like you could find any map that takes about 15-20 seconds to cycle with mobs that have less than 24 times your damage in HP and run around 1hkoing everything, and not even have to dual channel anymore.

Alright, I've been going back and forth on which skills to max after Big Bang for my I/L. I expect to hit 135-137 by the time Big Bang comes out, but I'm basing the amount of points I'll have on what I've got now at 134. I've got enough skill points to master Magic Mastery (for the +30 matk and 50% buff timer addition), and Chain Lightning or Big Bang, and then a few left over for something else. I'm preeeetty sure I'll be going with Chain Lightning, but I can only assume I'll still be training at Oblivion 4/5, so would Big Bang be more useful? (CL only hits 3 targets, Big Bang 6, but it's not terribly often that I come across a mob larger than 3 at these maps) I should probably get at least Level 1 Ice Demon for the cold/freeze effect, right? So, which skill would be more useful to me, Big Bang, or Chain Lightning?

Second, with the leftover points, should I bother with MW anymore? I have it at 9 currently, but with potential and everything else, I don't think it's such a great boost as it once was. What else should I put these points in? I'm thinking Ice Demon and Ifrit, but do I max ID first, or go with Ifrit instead of maxing ID? Thanks for the help, everyone!

Pretty much answered my own question: Max CL, 1 point is Blizzard, 1 point in Big Bang, then either 5 Ice Demon and work on Maxing Elquines, or max(?) Ice Demon for the DoT, which I'll use a lot, I imagine.

Guys, what happens to clerics post BB?

After Big Bang will Mages need Luk since it provides accuracy? What base Luk should mages have after BB?
Reply
Well, i did good with 4 base and some good equips, i could hit everything @ lvl and such.

So 4 base Luk should be fine all the way to level 200? Also what equips did you have?

Ultimately it's better to have luk, either enough to wear the highest level elemental staffs (F/P, I/L), Bishops should have enough luk for level 80 class equips (enough for reverse stuff in case they can afford a VIP staff/wand).

I'm planning on making a Battle Mage, would it be best to be Low Luk or Lukless? Also can they equip shields?

They use staffs, I'd say go low-luk if they don't get the penalty for using estaffs (since those are fast).
Get at least enough luk for the lvl 103 estaffs (which are easier to find), then aim to find a lvl 163 estaff or a VIP staff.
In case they get the penalty for using estaffs then build them like bishops (luk enough to equip lvl 80 class equips).

They can use shields like normal magicians, yes.

I have a weapon with 8 & 4 % Total Damage.

Is total damage greater than % Magic of the same value?
Do they stack?

Lying ass skill. My Meteor only has 5 sec DoT. Not even fucking worth it to use on a boss. Dusk's thread says 10 secs.

The only skills in GMST that had accurate DoTs listed in the skill description were Fire and Ice Demon. If they have the correct times listed but don't actually last that long, then it shows that Nexon had no fucking idea what they were doing when they were reading my Bug Reports.

My guildmate is a lvl 163 Bishop that just reset his skills using the ultimate SP reset. He has 129 4th job SP right now. I was guiding him according to what SP told me for my lvl 200 bishop, but I just maxed everything except for Mana Reflection, he cannot do this because he doesn't have nearly as much SP.

Can you guys please tell me how he should allocate his 129 4th job SP? As in, by priority, what skills should he have how many points in? Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Edit: if a few people could give me their input, rather than just one, I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't want my guild mate to screw up his skill build. Thansk again for your help.

Guys, whats the amount of luk i should cap at in order to get atleast 120luk for a myst blue. And then, once i reach 163 i want to be able to wield a red phoenix staff. What equipments should i prioritize with luk and what equipment should i prioritize with int ? i have no problems switching from a MoN to a 22stat htp but it would be ideal if i could still keep my mon.

TL;DR (LOL Rolleyes)

- what luk should i cap at considering
- i wanna wear a myst blue asap (120luk required)
- be able to wield a phoenix staff(fire 163 staff, no idea what number it is in gms) (165lukrequired) once i reach 163
- Im wearing an MoN to wield the mystblue
- ill switch to a htp(if i have no choice) in order to use the 163 staff.
- finally, i can get luk(according to tikeys eq list) from dragon equips
