F/P Mage: 1, I/L Mage: 0?
I'm aware I/L Mages do have a DoT with Ice Demon (100%) and Blizzard (205%), but is that really enough to compete? There's a lot I'm still unaware of such as if DoTs stack and which do as well as the delays between casts, but I think it's a pretty safe assumption. In terms of training, I think it was found that they were a mere fraction of a difference (around 2-3% more damage), so could end-game bossing go to the F/P Mage?

I/Ls are quite ahead of F/Ps considering the restructuring patch. From what I remember the monster would need to have about 50 MDRate for the F/P to become equal.
I'll recalculate those numbers, give me a moment.

I'll recalculate those numbers, give me a moment. Yeah, that seems a bit too high of a MDRate. I would assume somewhere around 25-30. I figured they were more on par than that. Restructuring isn't done, is it? It's only had one patch (to my knowledge).

Calculated, had to include ifrit/elquines since they make a difference.
Post-BB Pre-Restructure: Monster needs to have 44,3% MDRate for F/Ps to be equal.
Post-Restructure: Monster needs to have 55,4% MDRate for F/Ps to be equal.
Though that's all theoretical data. It assumes the F/P will renew all their DoTs exactly when they finish. It also assumes that you will be spamming CL/Paralyze non-stop when in truth you have various times you are not attacking and DoTs keep doing their job (stun, seduce, seal, using potions, super mdef, etc.

I've got a question, it's irrelevant to this topic, but do magic attack pots stack with meditation?

Shadeh Wrote:I've got a question, it's irrelevant to this topic, but do magic attack pots stack with meditation? I don't think so. In fact, the only magic attack buff I'm aware of that might stack is post-reconstruction Bless. It was completely redone in terms of variables. Since the lower weapon/magic attack made it irrelivant to use in parties (Rage/Meditation is better), it becomes a pain to Heroes and Mages who have to recast each time the Bishop casts Bless. I'm assuming it stacks, but I can't exactly prove it. All Spadow says about it is the increases in the stats, but Fiel's extraction says the variables were replaced as well.
Google's, ahem, "loose translation" of the new Bless:

In my personal experience, it does NOT stack. With ANYTHING. It didn't even Smartcast in GMST. I am still rather bitter -_-

iirc, bless overrode the attack bonus from Dragon Blood when I trained with priests.

I never said anything about Big Bang. Although it's restructuring, not reconstruction. I doubt you'd reference that mistake as Big Bang.

donovan Wrote:Battle Mages Final Blow ignores 20% of MDR. Oh wow, I completely forgot about Battle Mage and that other one... uh, ah it's not important. I only remember it being a poor excuse for a mage.
I think that's pretty much covered it though. There's only five (six if you count Blaze Wizard) mages and only DoTs and Final Blow ignore/reduce MDRate.
I give it at least ten minutes before I'm corrected.
EDIT: Recent discovery while trying to correct myself. Evan's Blessing of the Onyx stacks with other buffs in restructuring. So I guess they are a whole lot better, just not quite yet.
