Rate Nexon for 2010

I noticed this year:

Pros:
VIP stuff
Alien event
50% scroll event
RGTS
Adventure rings
W7 support
Free nx through surveys


Cons:
Capcom and all his friends orgy-hacked a GM, big no no.
Many rollbacks
Duping hacks
AoE hacks
Enhancement hacks
Auto-bans
Dual blades being permanant
Removal of Perma items in Cash shop
Letting -hime- talk about stuff
Meso duping
DC hacks not being patched until late this year when it should have been patched last year.
Hackers that caused most of the above not being banned.
Recycled events
and next to no apology to the victims

you should take win7 support off your list of Pro's. I tried to Zak last night and the same old story. I DC'ed when the first arm died.

I gave them a 3, because they made LOTS of mistakes but they compensated for MOST of them.

Improving, yes - enough? Not at all.

This is how I feel.

They are getting better and as long as they continue to improve they might make a decent company one day. They still have major flaws in how they run the game and how they handle their playerbase. It's getting better but it's still not acceptable.

I'd switch these, but otherwise I generally agree.

As for the poll, the sloppy Big Bang implementation, meso exploits, D/C hackers, and removal of permanent NX leaves a lot to be desired. I know we've had some interesting events here and there, but that's a bare minimum expectation for a company of Nexon's caliber. I'd be lying to myself if I gave them anything higher than a 2.

Since this is in MapleStory Discussions... and that we primarily gripe at GMS... I'll base my vote based on how NexonNA fared with GMS this year.

And I say it's a mixed bag. They have done more for the game than I could predict, but they have yet to fix some glaring issues at hand. I love the fact that BB is coming and all, but what good can you enjoy that if your client running on Win7 sucks and/or d/c hackers get to you? Having Tespia on was a pleasant surprise, and I certainly hope this trend can continue (and be improved on), but oh how I wish they could test stuff like in KMST...

For me, it's a 3.

D/c hacks.

Not that I've ever been subject to them, but those who know how to d/c hack have a huge advantage over those that don't, and I find Nexon's apathy disturbing. I also find it strange that Nexon got the hint that players don't like turkey commandos in good training grounds but they didn't get the hint that d/c hacking is prevalent and destroys cash-related and bossing aspects of the game which are two major, critical features of Maplestory.

I'm still happy about the work they're doing in regards to the game but in light of their shady activity regarding the current black friday sales, I can't justify claiming that they've changed enough to deserve anything higher.

I'm gonna second this. I gave em a 3, but the blatant disinformation of this even and the timing of it makes that more of a 2-2,5. How the hell can they come to the conclusion that alienation of the community this close to big bang is a good thing? My personal BB hype actually did take a beating from this.

Primarily, yes. But if you're dealing with them on another front there's no reason not to voice it, good or bad.

Ah, well, with my Vindictus experiences so far, it's been extremely positive. They're practically releasing everything on time, they negotiated with us on the token issue, and as far as I can tell, they've told no lies yet. The only slight problem is the server lag sometimes, but I'm unsure if it is Nexon or other users causing the lag.

Unless they buy a Euro server (Vindictus is HEAVILY based on being close to the host server, reason why they divided the east and west United States) I don't see that happening too soon D=.

I'm very satisfied with all the content they have released this year, if I could only vote for that, I would give them 5/5.
As for the general work of NEXON, I gave them 4/5.. All the bugs, glitches, incompatibility and $$$ hungry "events" were just horrible.

Just voted them 1 out of 5 for the massive profit whoring malicious black friday sale. No other way to describe it than malicious.

The hacker problem isn't the usual hacker problem. Before, widespreading hacking was the result of a select group of people who knew what they were doing releasing their software to the public. Nowadays, it's that same select group, except they're not releasing their stuff as much so that it won't get patched as fast.

Is Nexon even truly responsible for this? I'd say your beef is with hackshield.
