Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread
http://oldmanclub.co.cc/asps/act5/f_mech...i!SNiGHlll is a build from superswordaction.

http://oldmanclub.co.cc/asps/act5/f_mech...GQNIDCCAAA is the build kersmack set up, allowing for my messed up points, but the builds seem to be taking different core moves, lvl 1 robotics vs lvl 10, no ancient memory vs lvl 10. Are the differences because of my misplaced points(which are fixed now) or just different opinions about a build?
Hrmmmmm yeah. It'll be best to SP reset. The difference between level 1 Ancient Memory and level 1 Robotics versus max level is HUGE.

Let me start off with a basic formula for calculating weapon/magic strength in DFO: Every 250 STR/INT increases your total weapon/magic attack by 100% of your BASE weapon/magic strength. For example, if your gun is 100 magic strength and your INT is 0, your total magic attack is 100. If your INT is 250, your total magic attack is 200 (100 + 100*250/250 = 100+100=200). If your INT is 225, your total magic attack is 100 + (100 * 225/250) = 100 + 100*0.9 = 190 magic attack.

If you only take level 1 Robotics and Ancient Memory you're stuck with only +15 INT/+30 INT. That's barely a 6%/12% base damage increase.

Now onto why max Robotics and Ancient Memory are so strong:

Robotics/Ancient Memory adding +150 INT multiplies your base damage by 60%; for example, if your gun gives 400 magic attack you will gain an additional 240 magic attack. This pretty much makes your robots pack a bigger punch.

Each lasts 20 seconds, so you can always keep up a 60% base magic attack boost if you switch between Robotics and Ancient Memory. If you were to use both at the same time, you will gain a 120% base magic attack boost. For a 400 magic attack gun you'd gain 480 additional magic attack. If you use this at bosses or mini bosses expect life bars to fall like a rock. This is the equivalent of turning your robots from a sub-machine gun to a mini-gun.
one more question for now, should i save my sp and only get mech skills when i am the right level, or should i be adding into ancient memory now? I am lvl 24 and have 648 sp atm with only points into g-1 corona and land runner

You bought a Lithe's Water, I presume?

A rule of thumb that I use is I always try to reserve around 60 to 100 SP befoe each level divisible by 5 until you get all your skills (so have that much SP saved by 25/30/35/40/45). Since you have 648 SP adding into Ancient Memory and Robotics only costs 160 SP, so you'll be okay. If you can, stick to the build you found on SSA, but Gale Force may be subjective. Some people I hear max it, some leave it at level 1. Gale Force isn't as crucial as the G series. It's more like extra toppings on a pizza, while the G Series is the entire pizza itself.

Well, there was also a big difference because his was a level 60 build while mine was a level 50 build. If I had made mine a level 60 build it would have looked like this http://oldmanclub.co.cc/asps/act5/f_mech...BUSNBGHAAA which if you look carefully the only difference is you have level 1 gale force and your hodgepodge of skills compared to max gale force so you essentially spent that water just to get max gale force and everything else identical.

I don't mean to harp on it, I just wanted to continue on with my saying you really weren't that screwed to begin with.

Max Silver Bullet is actually viable since it has a higher damage to MP ratio. Most Female Mechanics choose max Time Bomb instead since it has been synergy with a Mech's general playstyle. Just throwing that out there.

DFOS seems to like max Mech Drop a lot more than any other cube skill because Mech Drop's special robots' drop rate and overall level scales with the skill's level.

There's a drop rate increase in the special bots? I wasn't even aware that existed, nor the level. What about Sparrow Factory then?
So, guys

I've been really busy with school and work and I have not had time for DFOan, but now my body is ready. I get home from work at about 8:00 on weekdays and want to get to 60. Are any of you currently grinding Verderia and would want to drain an FP bar with a fellow Rocket from 8 PM to about 10-11 PM?

a dedicated bro is the only way this will work. That way, I can't say "I DON'T FEEEEL LIKE IT", because then I would be letting a Rocket down, and Rockets don't do that, so who wants to pray game with me?

The thing about Sparrow Factory and Gale Force is that they are mainly used as a distraction and for hit stun. They can easily do that at level 1, so there really isn't an urgent need to max them. Mech Drop, however, is the cube skill that scales the best. So if you're looking to max a cube skill, Mech Drop would give you the most benefit.

Mmmmmmm I see. Does the same apply to Male Mechs as well, or is Tempester or Sparrow worth maxing for them?

I know I've been helping Felix out on his BM on the way to 60 with my witch. I can't exactly speak for him but I'm fairly confident he would love to help out his Rocket brethren on the way to 60 and if you guys still wanted me to come along just to speed it up I've got no problem with that either.

Come back with at least a dozen and a half trials with three "Lucky" titles, then rage.

What the hell....I guess that bulk unpacker from DFOsource did this.

EDIT:
Ugh, back to DFO I suppose. I'll be working on a third Witch. One that, after learning from DFO before and then on DnF, I won't screw up. IGN is Ploutos. :/
That, kids, is why you don't play foreign versions.

Bulk unpacker? DFO Source? The one I wrote?

how the hell is that possible.

No idea, it was the only thing that I had put in that folder that would be suspicious. Only other program that I had up was xpadder, but I've been using that since summer.
