Rate Nexon for 2010

As an economist, I give them a 1. Reasons for that have already been laid out in countless posts/graphs/tables/logical arguments/trends that I can't be bothered to post again.

As a gamer, I give them a 2. All the corpses left behind from hacking and D/C hacks, on top of depressing tales of losses/wrongful bans/inexcusable paltry customer service prevents me from being apathetic. My sympathy goes out to my fellow Maplers. You did nothing to earn the sludge thrown in your direction. There is something to be said about a company that likes to keep the money but not the customer.

Recasts vote to "0" - Someone just put Nexon out of it's own misery.

I'll assume Nexon America is being rated here.

Was IP banned for no reason for half the year, their pomegranate is still laggy as balls, they already pineappleed up Vindictus, Maple still has exploits all the pineapple over the place, Combat Arms still is filled to the brim with script kiddies. More and more is becoming NX only every patch.

By far the worst problem is that their customer support is still worse than any company I have had to deal with in my entire life.

If we're going to discuss horror stories of customer service, then I gotta mention Circuit City. I'm sure you can google a few. :p

But be warned. It gets ugly.

If we were talking about Vindictus only, 4/5. They made mistakes at first, but they've managed to fix them pretty quickly. I was impressed by the way they handled the token system. I'm still jaded about the underwear/hair and the gachapon like thing, but I'm not fretting too much. If they keep content coming out at a good pace like they said they would, I'll be happy with them.

1/5 for Maplestory and the rest. Standard free mmo fair on all counts. DFO and Mabi are ignored outside of patches, Nexon can't keep up with Maplestory problems and continues to milk it at every turn, no one is still play poptag or CA.

In regards to NexonJP and NexonNA, I think they are going in the right direction. Granted, I haven't dealt with NexonNA's Customer Serivice in a long time, since the MSEA split, but the fact that both JP and NA got to BB so quickly after it was released in KMS says something, I think.

In regards to NexonKR and the actual content being added to MS...eh. The addition of LHC is nice, but they "restructured" BB, and yet I feel that all of Resistance seems still overpowered by way too much, though I haven't been on KMST so I cannot say that for certain. Meanwhile, the Scroll stuff is going in the right direction, but the whole UA deal is just a tad annoying, I feel that the addition of it should have been a part of BB, instead of added months after, after everyone who had stopped playing due to leveling issues has now returned and spent months into an Adventurer just to be told "Start over or spend the next month on an eternal quest". So they're at about a 50:50 right now in my book.

DC hacks not being patched until late this year when it should have been patched last year.
Hackers that caused most of the above not being banned.
Recycled events
and next to no apology to the victims

Improving, yes - enough? Not at all.

2009 was my favorite year still. 2010 just felt like it was pretty lazy. Besides Alien pq, it was pretty bad to me. Nexon needs to step it up.

Early '10? 1.5 at best. 2 false bans, lots of problems with DC hacks and whatnot, bleh.

Late '10..a solid 3.5/4.

I'll just say 3.

I can't really say where I'm at with Nexon this year. I wasn't completely active this year as opposed to my many years before, but I give them a solid score of "3" for this year. Many, many bumps and kinks in the road throughout this year with so many glitches and problems with lag and Vista. In the end, they seem to be trying hard, they could do a lot better though. =P My final judgment won't be in until they release the official "Big Bang" patch, here's hoping everything goes smoothly!

In terms of new content, they've been really great. We've gotten a lot of the major updates shortly after KMS. As for events, I'd say this year it's been lacking as compared to previous years. The Halloween and Thanksgiving ones have been pretty bland. I hope the Christmas ones are really good. In terms of customer support... It's still lacking, but I find tickets are being answered (for me) a little bit faster, so I think they're stepping it up a little. And lastly, NX. I still think they are a little too focused on NX. I know it's their business really, but they're pushing it in terms of having NX as an extra, and pushing it down our throats.

So I rated them with a 4. I've never really been that much of a Nexon hater, but I'd say they're getting better but have some work to do. At least somewhat.

even tho they update game fast (which is imo good) they dont know how to run a game without mistakes and whenever there's something caused by their mistake they simply blame it on players (meso exploits, many of us got perm banned only cause we had our stores up before the info about the exploit spreaded out.Thats not the way it should be done, duh it should never happened)

even tho im in game for 5 years and i've seen alot its a shame that people with very important cases (ban appeals or bug related things) getting responded (of course if they are lucky) within 3-4 months at least (i have friends that have tickets open for over a year as well)
Dc hax ... meso exploits ... rollbacks ...enhancement hack being noticed 3-4 weeks after being discovered by hackers ... legits getting banned instead of hackers that never got banned (everyone loved those arans in main maps / bosses eh?)says everything i guess.

The sad truth is nexon runs the game but they dont know anything about it

Middle, they still suck at updating and customer service, but I gotta admit that I love how it doesn't take more than maybe 3-5 months till kMS content is in gMS (bit longer for BB, but that's quite a big patch), then again there is ton of bugs, but at least they released Tespia. I still hate their greediness and ignorance (like survey and paypal blocks for continents outside america, too much mts fee, advantageous nx items etc.)

3. Could be worse, could be better. In terms of content and what they add I cannot say I am dissapointed. The problems they encounter have their root in the lack of insight in the product they sell. If they had some grunts that actually played the game in some form and/or could see it from the view of the player, they would do so much better. Some of the bad reputation comes from unhappy brats in their lower teens with no idea at all what it means to run a business or the hardships programing stuff .Hell, mostly they do not even know what they want for themselves at all. That said, Nexon stll need to take their pomegranate to a higher level because MS is a huge entity which bring them fat revenue and should be treated with a lot more respect from their side.

Since this is in MapleStory Discussions... and that we primarily gripe at GMS... I'll base my vote based on how NexonNA fared with GMS this year.

And I say it's a mixed bag. They have done more for the game than I could predict, but they have yet to fix some glaring issues at hand. I love the fact that BB is coming and all, but what good can you enjoy that if your client running on Win7 sucks and/or d/c hackers get to you? Having Tespia on was a pleasant surprise, and I certainly hope this trend can continue (and be improved on), but oh how I wish they could test stuff like in KMST...

Since this is in MapleStory Discussions... and that we primarily gripe at GMS... I'll base my vote based on how NexonNA fared with GMS this year.

And I say it's a mixed bag. They have done more for the game than I could predict, but they have yet to fix some glaring issues at hand. I love the fact that BB is coming and all, but what good can you enjoy that if your client running on Win7 sucks and/or d/c hackers get to you? Having Tespia on was a pleasant surprise, and I certainly hope this trend can continue (and be improved on), but oh how I wish they could test stuff like in KMST...

Last year a similar poll was create and IIRC, the results were far worse. This was before the hacking outbreak, too.
