The clan I'm in ( MM| ) has many vets, from different theaters of war. We welcome back one of our members who had been fighting in Afghanistan. Pardon his english..

Some of you would have noticed that i'm shooting around again in the MM| CODUO server Wink
But just a few know were i was the past 2 years,
Well that was afghanistan.. Smile
I have had 2 missions there, and i will tell you just a bit what happened.
Not even only for you guys but also for my self, i hope that would be appreciated Smile.
Well to start, Im Cpl.robbert Jansen
im a .50 gunner on the bushmaster, a vehicle that is resistant against most IED 's in afghanistan and always ahead of a convoy.
The first mission was the worst, lost one of my best friends (since military training)by a suicide attack on our bush master..
He was manning the .50 atm , something that was my job.
happy for me, my SGT. let me switch positions cus there was something wrong with his rifle.
I'm pretty good in fixing weapons so..
then we were driving on a main street in a "given clear" small town.
everything went well until there was a car driving towards us from the right.
it stopt 50 cm from our bumper, and then the man blew his car.
You cant imagine what thats like... my head was smasht against the side wall of the vehicle.
but nothing serious happened.
unfortunately for our gunner, who wasn't that lucky... he died after 1 hour of heavy medic support. 23 years old.
not gonna tell details even if that is a question , i just need to let it go.
well after a couple gunfights my first mission was over,
thats were a new problem started
When i was home my girlfriend and i broke up, she said she could not live soo long without me.
understandable of cource but oke, thats when i started drinking.
for 2 months i was pretty much drunk all the time.
But i did put my self over it, lucky me cus i knew a few guys who couldn't stop, and i know how hard it is.
(taking a break here for a while)
oke,
well when i was all ready again my second mission started.
Also here a good friend of mine lost his legs ,when stepping on a IED.
Our base was attacked by rockets but no one died in that attack.
well that were the headlines of my second mission,
Sad of my friends i returned now 1.5 months ago.
(im sorry if i typed some words wrong, im not a star in english)
Now i have bin returned im also active on server again, not that my k/d really improved Razz
Well this was a very short story of my time in afghanistan.
i hope i didnt bored you guys with this, just wanted to let you guys know Smile
