North-Korea has attacked South-Korea

I think everyone is a bit overscared about this, I mean USA attacked Afganistan and all that, did that cause WWIII? Nope.

You guys should stay calm unless something REALLY bad happens.

I am not really worried. When I hear that the US joined the war then I will START to worry. I will not be in full blown panic till I hear the draft is coming back. THEN I will panic.

It's an attack pointed to civilians this time. Last time NK did something was back in March, when they sinked an SK battleship.

Kim Jong-Il is insane. He doesn't care about a lot of things. One of them is the people of North Korea. Gah, it's terrible.



Tbh, the real power is still with Kim Jong-Il. He's stated in the past that his son isn't able to continue his legacy, and most people around him think alike. It's been said that the head chief of the NK army is expected to succeed him, not literally.

Well yes, but most people do not know that Kim Jong Un is actually the leader currently. But yes, Il is definitely the mastermind behind the whole ordeal.

Man I was wrong I always thought WWIII would be started by the Germans. You know, WWI, Germans, WWII, Germans, WWIII, North Koreans.... One of these things is not like the other.

You might want to look through some better history books before you over simplify things. Germany played a part in the start of WW1 to be sure, but the conflict date back several hundred years before WW1 broke out. WW2 is nothing but a continuation of the crap that went down during WW1, and during the treaty of Versailles the french leaders made sure to pave the way for the ill fortunes that gave Hitler and the nazis power by screwing Germany over beyond what some can call justice. Of course the conflict between Germany and France is way older than this, so it was hardly surprising. /end history lesson.

So, in reality, how serious is this? Like, clearly it's all jokes from here and I think war has lost a lot of it's realism because it always takes place overseas. Does anyone who actually knows anything about war have any input about this?

you dont have to be a professor to know that. -_- Austria-hungary and some other country were already in tension but the war only broke out when a prince was killed by serbia, an allied powers country. Germany only helped austria-hungary as they were allies at the time but it only turned the whole thing into a world war, so the blame is on germany but it isnt really them(cause the idea is, if germany didnt put their feet in the business a world war wouldnt have started). anyway, i can see a point if the 2 koreas start a war but so far, the afghanistan war was the most pointless one to date.

Possibly. I was being kind and giving it the same ranking I give Israel/Palestine.

China recently has always been taking a passive stance toward N/S Korea relations. They didn't do anything about the sinking of the SKorean submarine, and I doubt they'll do anything here.

The problem here is China and US. China doesn't do much now, but what if US and South will attack NK? Then there's United Nations that is gonna go screw everything up like always. Really the worst thing ever would be UN(or US) going to secure the Korean border, which would make Kim Jong Ill even more mad.

Seriously though, something needs to be done to free North Korea's slave-people and to stop it's monkey leaders already. It's bullcrap that nobody seems to care that it's proven they have/use weapons, it doesn't matter on what scale it is, if they keep doing it why isn't it trying to be stopped?

Beat them up to show them violence is wrong?
Cut off their supplies and back them into a corner?
Kill off their leadership and take over to be viewed as an ursurper establishing a puppet government that will likely be toppled and taken over by someone equally as bad?

It's easy to point at everyone and ask them why they're not doing anything but it's not constructive unless you can actually identify what needs to be done and how to do it effectively.

China only supports NK as a means of reinforcing their communism. There are only 3 communist countries left: Cuba, China and North Korea. Cuba is already opening, China is a capitalist country on economics but a communist country on paper (which only works as a censorship to put it bluntly). Then North Korea. Have you seen the videos? How they live there? They only live for the sake of the madness of their leader. No one EVER at this point of history would want to step in to defend North Korea. That would defeat economic pretensions with most countries around the globe.

North Korea does not have have a modern military. They still have Migs from the 60's. All they have is hidden Nuclear weapons. But if they shot one they would get about 80 of them all over their capital, so using those is retarded. Their weapons are outdated, their tatics are outdated. Everything there is outdated. Unless There has been something and I didn't notice it.
