I'm thinking about hosting a weekly Chaos Zakum squad for my alliance and maybe a few other trustworthy members some time after Big Bang, and I'm just wondering if there were any significant changes to the boss. None of us have any experience fighting it pre-BB, so I'd also like some information on what to expect. I did do some research already, and I'm just going to ask what I couldn't find here instead of bumping an old thread.
My understanding of the fight:
Arms - Heavy Dispel and reverse directions spam, one person gets seduced at a time. Other than the touch damage from the arms, how much damage does everything do? Which arms cast which spells? How do we handle Seduce, and what if a Bishop gets seduced?
Body - Pot Lock, which can be dispelled, and Zombify on 2nd body. Tell Bishops not to Heal and to use Dispel when needed. Apparently not much more difficult than regular Zakum.
I'd appreciate any other tips anyone might have.

Corrections:
- 5 persons get seduced at a time, they'll keep running >>> without jumping.
- Bishop should spam Dispel and potion on body and not heal at all unless they know what they're doing. Actually spamming isn't necessary, just makes it easier for them to understand and carry out.
Answers: - Bottom two arms do the heaviest damage, upward to 11k iirc. With Threaten though, it's a breeze.
- Curse arm and healing arm are still the same as in regular zakum
- idk what the above-mid two arms do...
- top two arms cast constant dispel and MP drain and key reverse. Drks should focus on keeping HB up. Look out for a few things: death (lol), MP drain, reverse key (you think you're jumping when you're not), buff limit (100 or so)
- Seduce works like Zakum, first 5 that enter get targeted until they are either dead or not in altar, then it moves onto the next one(s) on the entrance list: solution is similar to HT, tankers in first, then Drk, then ranged, then Bishops
- Bishops should focus on keeping themselves alive during Arms, because they're useless in this stage. Hugging bottom arms + spamming Magic Guard + potion works best (in a certain range of simplicity) to my knowledge. There are better methods, but they require the Bishops to know what they're doing. The stress during the runs should allow little room for keeping your cool for multitasking.
- Melees should not hug bodies, as Dispel isn't attached to an attack, getting invincibility frames does not protect you from Dispel.
- Ranged classes that can't take 11k hit even after HB should try to stay on top platforms and not fall down, tough if you factor in key reversal.
- Arm order: Well, in the runs I went, we just did whatever. Killing the right side first seemed easier but it could've very well been coincidence. You can have each one in your squad drop 500k~1m worth of 5k meso bags and bomb the dangerous arms, they go down fast.
I know nothing about Chaos Zak post BB.

Oh...what. According to the post-BB data, the bottom 2 arms only do 2900 damage, so I guess it must have been changed significantly. I plan on running on my F/P as it will significantly outdamage my Corsair post-BB, and it can tank 3k damage without MG, but obviously not 11k. Does Dispel happen frequently/at all at the body?

Keep in mind I have no idea about Chaos Zakum after BigBang. The bottom two arms could very well be doing 2900 dmg. 11k is preBB. Plus, the displayed damage could be its touch damage value, I think you'll have to check the number in the ground smashing skill itself for an accurate estimation.
Bodies cast Dispel fairly randomly, but I would not say frequently. Maybe twice~thrice per body at most given average DPS.
Corrections: Cyanne listed the value at 950 (preBB) which translates to 7671 damage pre-defense. Could be my faulty memory, but I do have the impression that those smashes were fatal, very.

Oh, I wasn't aware there was a ground smashing skill. How much damage does the body deal with spells?

5k ish with the Lightning (Potion lock or Zombify attached, only either, not both), and 7.5k ish with the fire pillar (5 sec stun attached).
This is on 3rd body. Prior bodies do less damage, but I guess that doesn't help much. First body is a breather though, its Lightning doesn't have potion lock yet.

Note - Pre-BB there's no potion lock on 1st body, and pretty sure there's no dispel either. Dispel is not THAT frequent on body (happens every 10 sec or so on arms), but should still be watched for - or you get stuck in pot lock with low hp and DIE.

I made this from Cyanne's topic long time ago
Pre BB, non mage and shad class need like 8.5k hp w/o hb or w/ decent hb to be safe to tank 1 hit from zakum. Before the top 2arms (left and right) down, it will cass mass dispel like every 5~10 seconds
In order: hero/buc/aran > drk/paladin/shad > nl/bm/mm/db/sair > mage
The first 5 ppl who enter will be high hp class, they ll get sed sometime and walking to the right side, bishop must follow and heal them (same as HT sed except bish must heal and spam MG same time), after sed end, bish can come back and hug bottom arms. Remember if some1 in seduce group die, let bish res him/her, if he/she use wheel, he/she ll put down as the last on seduce list (after bish), the 6th ppl who went in altar will join the sed target group and so on
My squad always start at bottom left side, ranger and melee spam attack to kill arm5 (seduce arm), bish hug bottom arm to take touch dmg (if bish can cast HS it ll be nice). After sed arm down, all switch to right side, ranger spam attack top right arm, melee stand at 2nd right floor and attack arm 4 and 6/8. When arm4 and arm2 down, ranger switch to left side and attack top left arms (arm3/1) while melee attack bottom right arms (arm6/8). Arm 8 will kill last (there is safe spot in altar when only arm8 left), i dont remember exactly how much dmg it does but i think it less than 7k
All body hit less than 8k dmg, touch dmg 9k+. Bishop just spam dispel or HS (pot lock is dispel-able, HS-able) whole the bodies - First body just like normal zakum except it stronger, has magic stun attack and zombify. Pretty boring
- Second body, same like first body, just more hp, abit stronger than body 1, dispel at random time but not much (like left arm of HT) and has lightning attack that will pot lock ppl (melee class can stand close to body/stand on body to avoid it - if they have enough hp)
- Third body, same like second body, just more hp, abit stronger than body 2
Post BB, if im not wrong, czk 'll hit less dmg than pre BB. Everthing is the same as preBB except exp lower, body 3 have 400mil more hp (preBB body3 880m, postBB body3 1.28b). Bring experienced bishop and wheels, you will be fine

Warriors should take body damage during 2nd/3rd to prevent pot lock unless you got enough bishops.
If anyone has hero will, it works on pot lock. Good in emergencies
For corsairs in emergency, have them go on the --> side with mobs and egg zakum. Even with a bishop, if they know what they're doing, they save a ton of pots. I recommend at least 1 hero will though in case a pot lock sneaks by.
Decent HB is very nice since it doesn't get dispelled. During arms, have at least 8.3k [pre-bb] to take all magic. One of the arms increases magic damage but idk which one, i think one of the bottom rights.

Ugh... from the sound of it, the Bishops would drop like flies while trying to keep the seduce party alive >.>
It's all but guaranteed that they'll get dispelled while on the body neh?

Seduce only happens till the Curse Arm dies.
Honestly the arms are the biggest battle for magician classes since the top two arms constantly dispel. So you're spamming MG more than actually attacking/Healing.
Kavole covered pretty much everything, as long as the first 5 people entering have high HP and survivability with a bishop that won't die healing it'll be fine. As he said seduce always makes you go to the bottom Right, so might as well stay there.
Healing isn't worth it at all on the bodies due to zombify, and after 2nd body pot lock is dispellable so it's a lot more useful than heal, and prevents nasty deaths.

Derp, for some reason when right-run seduce was mentioned I assumed that the victims would all be to Zakum's left, and the bishop try to follow them through the center. Wasn't really thinking, on several counts.

Actually I am wondering what is the damage for chaos horntail post bb, coz my current hp doesn't allow me to go to chaos horntail. Hope to go to a chaos horntail someday.
My understanding is that pre bb - with threaten , ranged needs slightly more than 12k of hp to tank the middle head.

It's not that hard to stay alive during the battle as a bishop, if you're attentive to your icons. The main problem is CZak getting in multiple attacks. From my few runs at CZak, it seems that dispel doesn't have an attack associated with it, like at Horntail, so you don't get to take advantage of the invincibility frame.
Remember, the seduce is only on the 1st stage, when the arms are up, so you can walk across CZak's body without worrying about much, except being dispelled at the wrong time and getting slapped. After that on the main bodies, the potion lock and zombiefy become the worst thing to worry about.

You're a pillsberry genius, thanks for the pepperoni advice! I got potion locked in combination with 1/1 at the 2nd body, and I was like "good form, game."

We went chaos zak today for the first time after BB. Man... body is evil now. It casts seduce on top of zombify. The good thing is heal was nerfed so it doesn't kill you in one heal.

I cZakked today also. 2nd/3rd bodies can seduce now, the same way curse arm does (5 targets, move right). Pot lock and zombify are no longer tied to the lightning attack, and instead occur randomly. Also, the zombify debuff is invisible which is a huge pain.
