Okay my F/P arch mage finally got unstuck in Malaysia I am currently testing DoT stacking and if it works while attacking the boss with paralyze starting to think it doesn't.


Edit: The Dot does stack and becomes one number of it added together have to check three different Dots together only used two together so far paralyzes and fire demons. The damage over time does not show up when spamming paralyze this worries me that it doesn't work as planned. All of this was tested using Mannon or whatever.

Edit2: All DoT work together but still the numbers do not show while attacking with paralyze.

Sorry if I'm late in this but Mortal Blow activates without having to be at point-blank range now.

Also, I repeat, both touch AND magic damage triggers Vengeance.

For the DoT issue, you should be able to calculate the average hits to kill a monster with your damage range, and then see if it's lower than that when spamming Paralyze to see if the DoT is still active while you're attacking.

Edit: I have to call it a night for today hopefully I contributed at least something.

Edit2: I lied. Anyhow I used composition it actually showed the combined DoT of it and paralyze probably due to it being slower so it probably all works the way we think but we need to figure out if it works like that on paralyze...or is composition better after the next rebalancing...

We have ignore defence from attack skills, does it stack with weapon potential bonus, or threaten?

And... Could any one confirm the formula which I've worked out mouths ago?
--- base damage * (100 - round[mobPDr * (1 - ignorePdPr)]) / 100
round : round down ...maybe...
mobPDr as an integer and ignorePdPr as percent value

This should be reported. Also suggest as a solution to make DoT skills do damage at every second on the server/client clock (preferably server to prevent abuse) independently of the time the monster was poisoned. Meaning it would not start a second after the monster is poisoned but would deal the damage every second that passes on the server clock as soon as the monster is poisoned.

I dunno, this is how it works in KMS. I don't have any problems with the DoT being hidden, reduces clutter.

I'm still confused on if it doesn't work under skill spamming or if its hidden as you suggested...

How would you know if the DoT was working?

Comp's DoT lasts for 10 seconds.
A F/P can stop using Paralyze during that duration and it will show a stacking DoT but
if they used the skill repeatedly, the DoT appears as if it was cancelled.

Shidoshi's idea of making the DoT display seperately from the used skill just makes it
easier in determing how effective it is.

I doubt that nexon will look into it though. =/

OT: I think Nexon might be just as inclined to understand a simple report such as "my DoT is not showing when I cast paralyze after casting other DoT skills." Who know? They might be able to understand that...if they know how to read.

I've learned through my personal experience that they actually enjoy well written and well explained tickets. Keeping it short makes them not know what is the real problem and send you a pre-made response.

You're totally right then. I never bothered sending a report even once, so I wouldn't know.

I just tested it. Skills that cause DoTs won't display the DoT if you keep refreshing it immediately, but they will continue to do the damage over time.

Regarding F/P's DoT does Fire DoT and Poison DoT stack together? I apologize if this has been asked or answered earlier.

I don't think the same DOT skill from others players stacks. Maple just can't handle that.

A monster can only be put into 1 state per DOT. It's the same like trying to freeze a monster with 2 people, the new freeze will freeze the monster again, not twice. You can freeze + poison it though, that's why you can put multiple DOT's on a monster -if- the DOT's are from different skills.

But I haven't tested it post-BB though, it's just how maple always worked... But maybe it got changed with BB...Smile
