I read in that recent patch note that the Accuracy formula was changed again? Any idea on what that's about, and what it potentially means (Especially for Warriors)?
I would ask in the extraction thread but it was locked for whatever reason.
Also, rereading that translation, the Armor formula as well? I assume this means Defense. Anyone able to shed some light on these changes?

Patch notes say it was changed.
Unfortunately, the accuracy formula is not something that can be extracted. It needs to be either disassembled (from the client executable) or reverse-engineered (by feeding the client carefully controlled character and mob stats and seeing how often it generates a hit, as opposed to a miss). Both methods take quite a bit of time and effort. If Nexon is nice enough to release a full-debug-info client again, that time would be shortened considerably.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
For now, we should just pay close attention to reports from KMST. Are people MISSing more than before or less? Can archers hit mobs way above their level again? Do DEXless warriors miss a lot more than full-DEX ones? and so on...

Well that's mostly why I made this thread, since the Extraction thread was locked. I was hoping people who have been playing KMST could enlighten us on what this means. I would hate to have a 150+ Warrior with No Dex, then suddenly they change the formula so you need DEX again, and it would just completely screw them over.

Dammit. I understand why they changed the accuracy formula since accuracy was just about completely useless, but defense too? That stat was actually useful. I hope the new formula retains its usefulness.

Maybe because it made Paladins too godly of a tank xD.
Oh well, they did seem to put an effort to change accuracy weapon scrolls a lot though. Thats probably why you see 10% scrolls giving 100 acc right off the bat. Evasion bonuses also shot up to 100 as well on 10% so maybe you need a lot of the 2 stats if you want them to do what you intended for them to do.

Defense was actually pretty useless even after Big Bang.

It was not useless at all. With defense reducing damage by a percentage and all normal stats giving defense it wasn't useless at all.

For example, the tier my Paladin is on;
40% reduction: 6400 def
41% reduction: 6724 def
Since (as with lots of things) MS rounds down, from 6400-6723 def, you'll have the same 40% reduction. That's a difference of 323 defense that doesn't matter. Now how many items can give +323 def? None...

+1 all is equivalent to 2.6 def now, so a CHTP actually adds 359 def on average, but yeah that's still a pretty small reduction in damage.

How did that answer his question? Is it impossible for someone to have collected data because somebody else said that data needs to be collected to have an answer?
But on topic, there hasn't been testing to find it out yet. We'll probably have a chance at more testing when this patch hits KMS/ GMST/GMS.

I though some one would have do some testing on it already. maybe let wait for it to go into official kms server.

After reading the modules and what not, are we sure that's not just a mistranslation, and instead it's talking about the changes to Scroll effects on those things like Avoid, Def, and Accuracy?

No, because that's mentioned somewhere else in the patch notes and it actually says scrolls there.

Ah, oh well. Guess only time will tell. If nothing else, I'll just stock up on Accuracy scrolls so that when that gets released in JMS, I'll be fine and have plenty of accuracy should it be needed.

As for the ACC,I had no idea where they exactly had changed.
But I played KMST 1 hours ago,it was likely unchanged.
My Lv50 night walker hit LV50 mobs without any miss and hit Lv52 mobs probably 10% miss which was almost the same with the known formula.
Anyway,it was only a test!
