Ah, that explains why I didn't get any, haven't had to use any of my first 10 yet.

If you delete a character can you use the name again? For some reason I remember something being said that you couldn't reuse the name.

Well let's a-see.

Rangers: Good in PvE, but requires a highly upgraded gun (+11 or higher) to be great solo-ers; they can still solo, but will take longer. They do have huge damage multipliers, which is why a highly upgraded gun is good for them. Mix of hit and run and close combat. Crazy in PvP. Are 2nd only to Mechs in how powerful they are in beating other opponents 1 on 1.

Mechs: Also good in PvE. They also kick a lot of butt with a highly upgraded gun, but they are overall better solo-ers since they can hit and run and don't have to have such a strong gun when you have buffs like Robotics and Ancient Memory; a +8~+10 should suffice. It's all about the robot spam. They are rather hated in PvP because of how cheap they can be.

Launchers: Bad at soloing for he's mainly a mobbing class and utter lack of good single target attacks/DPS; they are more comfortable with a party where the party can group up enemies and the Launcher can just kill everything. Aka Launchers are support PvE

Spitfires: Not exactly PvE oriented. They are more PvP based because I hear MP is like water to them. Can equip up to 3 types of grenades and has different bullets for different situations. They probably fare better in soloing than a Launcher, but not as good as a PvE Ranger or a PvE Mech.


So it boils down to this:

Solo-wise
1. Mech
2. Ranger*
3. Spitfires
4. Launcher

*IF you can get a +12/+13 revolver, Rangers jump to #1 easy.

Trust me, you may party a lot but there will be some times where you just want to solo a dungeon for drops or for more total EXP, so a class who is better at soloing will help your overall DFO experience.

*Oh, forgot something Birdie. I meant to say for Rangers and Mechs that with a +11 Rangers are roughly equal, slightly weaker than Mechs, but with a +12/+13 Rangers are god tier. Armor choices may also affect your gunner choice. Mechs wear cloth and have higher MP regen; I don't know how fast they burn MP but it's relatively efficient. Rangers use Leather armor, and chug lots of MP but you can get away with spamming XXXXXXXXXXXX for damage.

This is an example of a well upgraded Ranger speed running through a dungeon about 10 levels below them but is still a very hard dungeon:

ALSO, there's a huge difference between Male and Female Mechs. Female Mechs are way better at PvE. Here are videos to compare. There is only a 5 level difference between them. Pardon the terrible video quality.
