When Big Bang hits I'm going to have to reassign SP on a bishop.
Skill table reference: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=32673
I have not been able to understand, with all the new and changed skills, just what is going to be useful for training.
Up until now this bishop served mostly as training partner, drop farmer, and occasional door/hs/bless mule. Never went on a major boss run (Zak/HT/CWKPQ/etc) and don't plan on doing so. I also don't train it for its own sake, solo.
Please help me figure out how to assign my SP to keep this bishop as useful as possible.
I assume Magic Armor, Holy Arrow, and Doom, continue to be the most useless first, second, and third job skills, respectively. Right?
I expect this bishop will have about 130 4th job SP to play with when BB hits.
Magic Mastery: 10 SP I assume increased buff duration applies to party buffs as well. Gotta have that 3-minute HS.
Maple Warrior: 20 SP (would do 30 but haven't got the book yet)
Resurrect: 1-5 SP Not planning on boss runs so I don't need it too much, but I want at least 1 point in it.
The attack buff on Infinity looks nice, and I've passed Infinity 30 so I could have it right away, but I think I should first get some consistently powerful attacks, before I spend points for a gradual buff lasting just 40 seconds out of every 180.
Holy Shield can wait, since I don't boss. Unless you tell me that post-BB, all mobs worth training on also cast status effects.
And now I'm stumped. What do post-BB Bishops use to train? Angel Ray? Big Bang (awkward range?)? Bahamut (seems quite powerful, but how often does it attack?)? Genesis (with the other skills acting as filler/lure while it cools down)? Mana Reflection (how hard do mobs hit, post BB, compared to their own HP?)? These total 150 SP and I only have 100 to allocate to them... Advice, please?

Angel Ray and Big Bang will be your primary attack skills. Big Bang scales awkwardly and has 80% of its max damage at level 1, so it is a lower priority skill to max. Genesis is actually an "ultimate" skill now, not just your primary mob skill. It does a lot of burst damage, and you use it to clear the screen when you see a lot of mobs. The main reason to add points into it is to lower the cooldown. I'd say add at least 1 point, but put it as a lower priority than AR/BB. Same priority level as Infinity.
Bahamut attacks once every 3 seconds and Mana Reflection is definitely a very low priority skill.
And yeah, the 1st-3rd job skill distribution looks fine.

Also remember that big bang's range got significantly better after BB, it's much bigger horizontally (about the same vertically).
I'd say probably as attacks go: angel ray, big bang, genesis, bahamut
and as buffs: magic mastery, maple warrior, infinity, holy shield/ress (depends if you boss), mana reflection last since it's still useless.

Big Bang's range didn't change; it's glitched in GMS.

How would you know what Big Bang's range is in Post-BB GMS??????

Well, assuming they'll copy-paste from KMS, it'd be the same as it is in KMS. The glitch right now is that it only gets half of the range it's supposed to have.

I know I'm (extremely) late to this conversation, but posting here seems more sensible than starting a new thread.
Unlike the TS, I've only got 59 points to play with. Now that we've actually SEEN the GMS changes, I'm considering something like:
30x Angel Ray
10x Buff Mastery
5x Res
1x Big Bang
1x Genesis
9x Maple Warrior
Which leaves me 4 points to play with. Originally I planned to stick them in Maple Warrior, but now I'm not so sure. Your comments above have talked me out of putting them into BB, but what about Infinity? I didn't notice much difference using it in Tespia, but then again I'm still not used to caring about my damage...
On the other hand, what about a point in Holy Shield? At level 1 it's sort of a useless buff, but that 11% passive status ailment resistance looks awfully tempting...

Sadly infinity is a skill that is only really good at level 30. Testing it in tespia at level 10 or having 4 points in it isn't much difference.
From what you have now I'd go either with maple warrior or infinity. I personally wanted to get maple warrior right away to make it easier to plan out my luk needs.

True, but my base LUK is so obscenely high that it's not really a consideration with regard to my skills x.x
Regardless, you're probably right. I have MW 20 unlocked, may as well make good use of it.
On a side note: training with the updated Big Bang skill was actually a lot more fun than I expected o.o
Normally I LOATHE charge-up skills, but stunning mobs with SR/Tele mastery gives you ample time to charge Big Bang unhindered and blow 'em all away. There's a nice flow to it. Still, it'll be nice to see how things look once I have AR to play with as well :3

Post-BB, will low luk bishops be worse than normal luk? I thought I read somewhere that lowluk got weaker.

Lukless are pineappled. Low-luk should be fine, particularly if you aim for +LUK gear that gives %INT in the potential.

From what I've seen in kMS, Bishops at LHC use Angel Ray to kill. When they are actually training/farming they use Shining Ray + Teleport with Teleport Mastery. Bahamut is casted for both scenarios obviously.

Hmm
I maxed all my Core skills and I'm down to just Mana Reflection, Infinity, and Holy Shield
Where should I put my remaining 7 sp in?

Infinity. It boosts your damage greatly when maxed.

Bleh, not sure if it's working correctly but, Buff Mastery only applies to yourself, not party skills.
Also...wasn't bless supposed to be Pot smart?

It still isn't, therefore I'm thinking of building my cleric on GMS w/o bless in mind due to the following reasons
There are pots that give 20 matk or more
LOTS of attack pots give more than 15 attack
Accuracy is useless
WDef and MDef it gives is negligible, and is easily replaced by Magic Armor.

I have 51 points to spend... so... 19 for mw, 10 for buff mastery 1 for bb, 1 for res (just in case), 1 gen, at least 15 for ar (so I can try to use my two ar30 books, wish me luck), that'll make me half decent as a suport bishop... I'll aim for max ar...
Does anybody here knows what are the koreans doing?

maxed AR before getting MW19 might be a better idea.

30 big bang
30 angels ray
9 MW
5 Ress
1 Genesis
10 Mastery
that should be 85 points, assuming i can get big bang 3 books. (i have already maxed angels ray currently)
