This goes for everyone who eats up every single generic brown 'n' bloom FPS.

>implying that not buying COD would change shooters

Very naive. Shooters are shooters. Doesn't change the fact that me and millions of others think the COD that comes out every year is worth it.

You're serious? Are you aware of how cash cows work? The reason they pump out FPS games as much as they do is because pre-teen kids and frat boys will always buy them thinking it makes them hardcore mature gamers. That's the demographic FPS games cater to. Guess what? They're both loud, obonoxious, and usually retarded. The market is saturated with so many FPS games I can't even name all of them that came out this year alone. Something is wrong with that.

To put it simply, if people stopped buying every FPS game that came out, maybe we could get some actual originality into this dying media. Until then...keep fattening Kotick's greedy wallet.

Sorry for wasting your time posting that huge post.

Meh, i see it differently, I'd rather see the 'for the money lulz' companies flood only the FPS genre than crap up my RPG and other genres with cash-grabbing garbage, and cause brain-melting trends with those. I hope the mainstream continues to feed them.

Also, <3 the downloadable/indie games.

I kinda stopped playing Call of Duty after CoD3. CoD4 was meh, and World at War, while hilarious, did it all wrong about trying to go back to how the original games were.
All in all, once they left WWII, I stopped playing.

Well, so much for the "last 2 1/2 years were spent strictly developing Black Ops"

It's fine. Listing all the games was a huge copypasta anyways from the CoD wiki site.

*I smell a hint of sarcasm.

You kidding me? Are you aware of how cash cows work? Yes, COD makes a pomegranate ton of money, but it's one game a year. One. Not 5. Use a better example like Guitar Hero. Go peach about that. They could easily spit out 4 COD games a year, but Treyarch and Infinity Ward acutally take pride in making great games. If you're seriously bitching about how people buy pomegranate to entertain themselves, there's something wrong with you. I'm sorry, I play COD and all my friends are neither loud, obnoxious or retarded. While I do agree that people think they're fucking "Hardcore" cause they're good at COD or think they're a fucking Marine or some stupid pomegranate, I know a ton of people that just play the game because it's simple fun. Yes, the market is full of shitty shooters, but don't clump them with COD which is one of the most successful shooters created.

People won't stop buying COD, it's not happening any time soon.

Because the market is totally not saturated with FPS; as though they're some kind of forgotten genre...

I don't know what you mean by that. Are you saying that there's now a game that can rival The Sims series of games? And even The Sims series has been whored out for all three incarnations of it, even worse than CoD actually.

Go to Wal-Mart and look in the discount game section/bin. Half of the games will be third-party family/party themed games no one's even heard of.
