Definitely want to try some of these. I haven't downloaded any from the site you gave me yet since I haven't had any time. I'll get around to it eventually. I really really want one with voice acting

I really really want one with voice acting Kanon has very decent voice acting if you get the voice files. As for Hitomi - My Stepsister, it comes with the voice files, so yeah. The voice acting is pretty decent, but I think similar to most VNs, this one might be heavily revolved around sexual content. Kanon = a super exception, you can always stay away from the hentai scenes easily. There are different versions too. As for Saya, well.. the sex has to be there for the story to make sense.

Khoi, might as well put this up in the first post if you want to make this a comprehensive visual novel thread: the old general visual novel thread
I'll just make this post a short and simple: What I've recently read, what I'm in the middle of reading, and what I plan to read; within the timeframe of a month or so. Recently Finished Air Pressure OMGWTFOTL Narcissu Umineko EP2: Turn of the Golden Witch Kawaii Adobenshaas in Anime Rand ![]() Currently Reading Sumaga (unfinished translation, only 1 heroine's route is completely translated and one is halfway translated) Umineko EP3: Banquet of the Golden Witch Kira Kira (True End) Higurashi EP1: Onikakushi ![]() ![]() What I potentially plan to read next Chaos;Head Umineko EP4: Alliance of the Golden Witch; and the rest of the series. The Noose Sekien no Inganock Hanachirasu Osananajimi wa Daitouryou

Done. Edited first post for ease. Thanks for posting, btw. Great to know what you guys are reading, and what you like. This way, I might have a small idea on what I might enjoy, myself.

Mm, Chaos;Head is a good one. I've read Clannad, Kanon, and the first arc in Higurashi. I plan on continuing it in the future, but at the moment I'm not working on one.
I personally love the depth and feel of most Visual Novels, and it's really the only reading I choose to do.

I started Kanon after you mentioned it in that other thread, and I've gotten Mai's story done, taking a small break at the moment. Clannad I got through all the characters and got around half-way through the afterstory, but then I have the same issue as you had Khoi, where the menu and random bits of text revert to japanese and it just gets all sorts of god damned fucked up. Eventually just gave up on it. Still a pretty good play though.

She's definitely a pretty interesting character. Even from watching the anime, and from playing through the VN, I never got bored of her at all. Not even for a bit. I'm debating on whether doing Nayuki, Ayu, or Makoto next. Probably Makoto, then Nayuki for some cousin x cousin action, and Ayu last.

Well, too lazy to make lengthy post right now, and I'm in the middle of reading a light novel that's keeping my attention too much (Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria).
I'll just drop in to recommend Planetarian to Khoi. It's a short read, shorter than Saya. Also made by Key, and you seem to like their stuff, so go for it.

Tried at one point, but failed. I think I f`ucked up somewhere, because the translation files were all messed up and weird, and I was never able to open the game. Probably gonna try that again some time.

I read a bit of KiraKira but that was pretty generic school-life stuff. I finished two endings of ef ~ a fairy tale of the two but it was even more melodrama than its anime counterpart. I'm pending on ef ~ the latter tale since that's where the bulk of the drama lies.
I also have Narcissu in queue but haven't done anything with it yet. Oh yeah, Clannad english patch was bitc`hy too. Also wondering if I should pick up The Drug That Makes you Dream again... Not many VNs are like Saya in the sense that it gets straight to the point in the first few scenes. Most just sit around boring school-life crap.

Kirari's ending is where it's at. butterfλi Wrote:Also wondering if I should pick up The Drug That Makes you Dream again... Dunno if you'd like. It's fairly short though. I found one route in particular to be fairly heartwarming.

The one I'm playing right now is mostly about raping a stepsister. >_>; So it has less story and mostly sex scenes. Give me a day or two and I'll let you know how I feel. So far, based on the flowchart, I'm around HALF of the story only. Which is surprising, because I was assuming I was near the end because I must have put forth a good 10 hours worth of regular reading cramped into a good 5-6 hours speed-reading. >____> At least Saya had a story. L> better VN after this. NOTHING CAN BE AS GOOD AS KANON. ;_;

I have problems getting VNs to work on my computer actually so I've only read:
- Katawa Shoujo ch1 (amazing) - Brass Restoration (eh, kinda nice) And sitting on my HDD: - Chaos;Head - Saya No Uta - Symphonic Rain Dunno when I'll get around to play them :/ I'd so wish there would be translated VNs for the PSP, I've read that there are PLENTY of them ;_;

Rob Wrote:I have problems getting VNs to work on my computer actually so I've only read: Tons. But there's really do demand for it in the US or something. It has to involve popularity, which is why they haven't brought any VNs over to NA for the PSP. I'm excluding Disgaea, because that VN really sucked and it's just an endless and pointless loop. It wasn't very thought-out, and it was really boring.

I really wanna read some VNs (especially Umineko), but I don't have access to them and...I hate torrenting.
