potential critical system
#1
i'm playing bm, current weapon stat "epic"... cubing on few more days, but b4 that, something i need to know about it:

i got max SE and critical ring, so critical chances is 65%, default dmg on critical dmg is 110%, so with soa, my dmg will be 100% + 140% (SE) + 100% (ctr) + 10% ring = 350%...

i had read some post regarding to potential critical system. i wish to know that the critical rate mention on the "weapon", is that refer to the critical chances or critical dmg?

anyone can shows how the calculation works? (in theory or in real game)

with existing passive critical skill or thorns, does the weapom "critical" effect still valid?

Critical chance, and the displayed critical chance is actually incorrect.
Only 121+ items get the 8% crit chance.

2x magical damage
No idea on warrior classes
Those with inherit critical have their regular critical damage I believe.

My Paladin doesn't seem to get any critical damage % from its weapon. It just turns some numbers pink. Couldn't hit anything outside the regular damage range. Of course, I'm using an attack that does 560% anyway so if it was +10% or +20% damage I wouldn't notice it easily.

There are 3 critical chances, 2 of them are displaying wrong:
Unique crit: 3%/6%/9%/12% - works correctly
Epic crit - 2%/4%/6%/8% - always shows 8%
Rare crit - 1%/2%/3%/4% - always shows 4%

The actual numbers work the same as other %stats - a level 1-30 weapon gets the 1st option, level 31-70 gets the second, etc.

so the things can be confirm is, critical rate add my chances of critical, if my bow get 6% critical rate, it will roughly add the bm critical chances from 65% to 71%, correct?

That is correct. After Big Bang, us NLs can attempt to reach 100% critical rate with the proper equipment.

I think the epic and rare critical bonuses actually are fixed at 8 and 4%.

I have a 4% crit Garnier, so when I get a chance I'll move it to a 1st job thief and test it out. 1% vs. 4% should be pretty obvious.

ed:
trial #1:
50 L7 (100 hits) -> 6 crits

trial #2:
50 L7 (100 hits) -> 6 crits

trial #3
50 L7 (100 hits) -> 9 crits
et.
50 L7 -> 5 crits
50 L7 -> 9 crits
50 L7 -> 5 crits

Yeah, that's not 1% or 4% even... currently at 6.7%.

And lol, when I tabbed out MS broke again. Stupid Win 7. I'll do more trials on my laptop in a bit.

Do shadowers fit into the bolded category? We don't have inherent crit.

Well, I don't know if Dual Bladers do it either. With and without thorns could lead completely different results. I'll test it in a bit.

It was +10% damage on my DB when I tested it but only when there was no other source of criticals. Using a critical ring and/or casting thorns negated the damage bonus from the weapon potential.
