I don't know a ton about ele's but I would think if you're going pure PvE you would be much better off taking those 200 points out of disenchant and putting them into magic festival (then again I could be wrong so probably better to wait for someone with a bit more experience with eles)

Magic festival isn't that useful for PvE because cast/charge speed doesn't really matter. Also, while the decrease in cooldown is nice, Magic festival is only up for 20s every 50s, so you don't even get that boost very often. DE, however, got some weird buffs after the priest patch. First, for every buff you remove, you are buffed with +60 INT; so removing 4 buffs at lvl 10 nets you +240 INT. Also, EF, for some reason, can be removed by DE. This allows you to simply drop an ice wall or void that hits 4 targets, two targets twice, or some other combination and cast DE for an easy +240 INT.

I did a bit of research myself, but I'm more looking for people with a variety of play styles and their takes on eles.

Yea, funny enough right after I typed that up I partied with Felix on his AM and he kept saying how awesome disenchant was so if I had replied a couple minute later I wouldn't have mentioned that at all!
Disenchant is FANTASTIC HOLY pomegranate I LOVE IT. It also lights the ice mark <3

Oh wow it buffs itself for burn as well? And on ice? Hell yes. Doing over 10k feels good man.
According to DFOSource AM got nerfed to 120 INT at max level (I didn't know this). This may or may not affect some builds that are SP tight in getting INT buffs. Just giving a heads up while people still have their bells.

Solid build, I say go for it.

Also agree on Disenchant. Imo it should be a must for all elementalists regardless of element choice.

121 sp left, but this is counting quests we don't have yet. Also Nexon screwed up my sp refund for pluto last patch so I've lost 25 sp. Pure dark pve build. Rationale:
  • Festival is there to kill cooldowns and toss out spells faster since I have less spells to cycle through.
  • Maxed focus just to eke out every last bit of damage on dark monsters.
  • Maxed mastery to boost all my main spells (20% is a lot).
  • Maxed crit and back crit to take advantage of how easy it is to back attack using dark spells.
  • Astral storm drops all dark crystals.

There's far more light weak than dark weak monsters though, not to mention there's a lot of dark resistant creatures. Are you absolutely sure about going full dark?

Pure dark is probably the only viable pure build, because the spells are so damn good. You don't need anything more than pluto, the void and black hole, everything else is just icing when using a dark build.

Yeah pretty much this, I've been pretty much pure dark since the start. The two times I used a reset was just to change the level of florae I had.

Even on ghouls/wraiths/skeletons dark spells do a decent amount. I only really have trouble with stalkers/dead murkers (soloing purg around that level was hell).

Simple light/fire. Anything obvious I'm missing?

edit: oops, aside from quick rebound.
Whenever they add 4 additional character slots, Imma think of reserving a slot for Rogues, then make a Battlesader. I then have 2 slots left. What should I fill them with?

I considered making another mage, preferably a nuking/AoE one. Is Elementalists the only way to go, or do the new Witches have potential? I then thought about making another Fighter. I already have a Nen Master, so what is a good complement, Striker or Grappler?
