I never played it, and from what I heard it's really bad.

And it doesn't have the quality to make you pay for it.

It's a french MMO, and i'm a french canadian, so a lot of my friends were playing quite some times ago. I tried it, and it was fun, but you needed to pay to really play the game after level 15 so i stopped...

friend of mine played it, tried to get me to play it...
yeah uh no. required payment to gain access to levels HIGHER THAN 20, to be able to explore MORE THAN JUST THE STARTER TOWN, and other reasons make me not want to play it *cough*FRENCHCOMPANYMAKESIT*cough*.

though, the gameplay reminds me of fire emblem, if only for the layout of combat.

What do you have against french? lol
You don't have to pay to pass over lvl 20, you can get 'till 200 (the max. lvl, well I'm not very sure, but you can get 'till lvl 100 at least) without paying. But yes, you have to pay to get more than the noob zone and the principal area, and some other advantages... But it's like 1/3 of the normal payment of P2P MMOs. (here in Mexico, $60 a month, that equals like $5 dollars)
I got 'till 40 or 50 without paying, and the rest of the world is really amazing... You should try paying at least one week and give it a try, it's good...
It's a good MMO and the only game that have gotten me playing over a year. Around this time of the year I get 2 years of playing, the last time I played it was like 2 months ago.
Maybe it's 'cause of the gameplay, I haven't found a tactical turn-based MMO as good as Dofus. And I don't like too much the typical Real-time MMO...

What's wrong with the language? There's the version of the game in english, spanish and other foreign languages... Also with specific servers and things...

Atlantica is for noobs, grannies, and the mentally weak.
Turn-based 2D (Dofus) > Turn-based 3D (Atlantica)
