Macro "shouts" slowing skills down?
#1
I was bored and set a macro for my Dragon Breath skill that said "GO AWAY!"

After I set it, it seemed like there was a slight delay in the skill and it didn't work as quickly.

I took it off, and it seemed better.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just in my head?

i use it mainly for buffs...
but i have it on puppet as well... but i haven't really noticed it being "too slow"

I've experienced it, too. It's more noticeable for bowmen and magicians since we jumpshoot. I couldn't jumpshoot with the macroed skill, so I switched back to my normal settings.

I can't really feel it, mainly because I hardly use macros and even if I use those "1 skill macro with funny names", I use them on buffs only and I almost always jump cast them.

The thing is that macros only work when you're at ground, it seems like. Which has its advantages for some and flaws for others.

For instance, putting rush on a macro is actually quite useful. If you press rush in the air, nothing will happen. If you set a macro with rush on it, rush will activate on the instant you hit the ground.

I put meteo on a macro a while ago because it seemed faster that way. Sometimes, when I press meteo, it doesn't work, but if I press the macro, it'll ALWAYS work. However, this can also work to your disadvantage. Sometimes, if tap meteo twice, even if Meteo isn't done casting, it will cast again before you can do anything, ending in a death for me.

[COLOR="Navy"]I noticed I lagged from others using it in certain areas. I myself don't use this option, but I am sure if I did, I would lag too.

I haven't noticed, but that's probably because I rarely ever use named macros.

I have two macros set up: Rage and Iron Body (1st job defense one <_< ) and then Combo and Booster.

I don't use the text thing cuz IMO, it gets annoying to constantly see every time you buff. I might use it in some big boss fight or something, but yea...:/

Only time I ever use macro shouts is when I put my cheapest/least conspicuous buff on a macro by itself and make it say 'J>PQ'.

It would make sense, you are still using a chat, even though its not appearing it probably has to go through all the lag normal chat goes through.

And yes, if you put IA on a macro and jumpshot with it, it will actually be slightly higher then normal IA.
