What i'm, curious about are the comments. Many people in the comment section are saying:

"lol let her be 18 and we can has tits or GTFO lol"

"THIS IS BLASPHEMY!"

or

"She's growing up! OMG! She can be sexy cause she's growing up and parents should just control their kids by putting parental controls on her sexy stuff!"


And there-in lies the problem: has the world changed so much so that a girl that's "growing up" equates to being scantily clothed and slutty?

If so, what can the parents do if their tween daughters (or younger) have grown up with a person like Miley, who happens to just drop all her tween fans in exchange for a "more mature audience"?

I personally think it's sad that people equate a girl growing up = slut/sexiness. Girls can do whatever they want for all i care, i just think it's really sad that they need to be slutty to do it. Opinions?

yeah i'm all for young women doing whatever they feel like. I just have a problem with the comments of people lightly encouraging the behavior. It's like, a few years ago, this would have appaled pretty much the majority of parents and people, but nowadays it's like "lol so she's half naked and under age? Who cares? She's growing up!"

though to get back on topic: this doesnt surprise me. the younger generation that is growing up in america is trying to break free of a lot of old ways of thought. comparatively, at least in my opinion, the US is a lot more repressed about sexuality than the rest of modern civilizations. though i admit, it is going just a bit too far with all this jailbait coming out now.

The reasone sex is considered inappropriate for children is because it's something that people very greatly enjoy, but it has very grown up consequences. If someone feels s/he is ready for sex, then s/he must also feel that s/he's ready for children, and even be willing to accept the risk of getting STDs. There's also a good amount of emotional baggage that comes with sex, since the partner will most likely feel that the action means something special to both of the participants.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against sex or anything. Sex is an action that comes as a natural instinct to almost all animals, and humans are animals no matter what people say to claim otherwise. People like sex, it's fun and leaves a good feeling when they're done, but it's a grown up action with grown up consequences.

Actually that "antiquated literature" holds a lot more clout that one might actually think. It may be true that the Bible's influence is lessening with recent generations, but one also has to remember that one generation can span over 30 years. America was first colonized back in the 1800s, and many people's grandparents were alive back in the 1910s - 1920s. Now think about the first colonists, many of them were puritans, who all felt that sex was something that should be scorned unless it was purely pro-creation, and even then it was still considered vulgar. If just two generations back was during the 1910s - 1920s, then just take a third step back and you can see a HUGE amount of puritan influence, and that generation raised its children using those beliefs. Each generation is a watered down version of the one before, but our parents have only been deluded a grand total of three to four times which is why the Bible still has so much power.


Now, on topic. I agree with Worthyness, I don't think people should consider sluttiness as being grown up, but sadly there isn't much we can do about it. Just look at the "Brats" dolls, those things are just little sluts with all sorts of scanky clothes that kids can put on them. I remember I saw a little girls dad looking at the one's she was playing with and he looked mortified by what her mom had bought for her.
