Google launches internet browser

One thing I 'like' about it is that I can just type 's' to get to Southperry, but that's only because I don't have anything else that starts with 's' in my history yet. Absolutely nothing to do with the browser.

 A major disadvantage for Firefox!!!
It's s+Tab+enter on Firefox...one extra key.

Anyone else playing with the source? I downloaded it, extracted it, then started extracting the file in the newly extracted file. Currently taken twelve hours and fourty-four minutes... and it still says 0%. ._. That's a little slow.

The latest nightly builds of Webkit, the rendering engine in Google Chrome and Safari, pass the Acid3 tests perfectly. The latest beta of Safari can.

Google Chrome is using a slightly outdated build.

Ooh, really? I had a look on Wiki after chucking Chrome through it and the highest I saw was 99 on uhh... I forgot what. And the only things that had a 100 were browsers specifically designed to pass Acid3. (As in, it was called acid3 build or something)

Apparently google did some EULA copypasting and now Google has the right to use anything you send or access with Chrome.

Google has acknowledged that it's a mistake and will change it. (http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/google-chr...agreement/). But for now...all your page are belong to Google. Rolleyes

Seems to have a memory leak or something, makes my computer lag like all hell for some reason when switching with different programs. Dunno what it is exactly, but for now it runs much worse than FF3 for me.

You can change what the browser opens up to:
Top right corner you see a wrench. Click the arrow and select Options, top part of "Basics".
As for the New Tab thing, not sure. Just out of curiosity, why?

Ontopic, I love how different it is. "Whoa, Google Chrome crashed" versus "Firefox has crashed, send report?".

Because Id rather be taken straight to google when I open up a new tab. Ive already changed the homepage, which was what you were talking about. Biggrin

I like it a lot.
It's got the speed of my Firefox in Ubuntu so I can browse fastttt when I'm booted into Vista playing Maple or something or other...

Anyway, I have yet to experience any problems, though the GUI could be nicer, and I'm definitely more used to Firefox but I think I'll get over it.
