Big Foot Glitch Consequence

you on Nexon forums Wrote:I got banned for a whole month just for being an FP mage, so messed up. Nexon just stole a month worth of my pet time and 15 days of double experience.

I do admit, I killed bigfoot, but how were we suppose to know it was a glitch at first?
Dude, you aren't a n00b. The BF glitch was announced everywhere from Nexon site/forums to SW. Not flaming you here but you should have known better.

It wasn't announced until a whole week after bigfoot was released.

Then open a ticket. Better yet, wait until the sc is done and see if you get your account back.
Honestly thou, people were already talking about the BF before the announcement was made. At your level, I'm sure you've heard about it in your BL.
Point is, I have a high level AM and I didn't bother going to CwK when I've listened to the BF weaknesses. Think of the reason why and you'll get your answer.

I assumed it just like last year when Nexon was experementing with poison weakness with Boomers.

I thought it was just another promotion, just how Boomers promoted Masteria, bigfoot would promote cwk.

Dude, you're trying to explain or find an excuse behind what happened. Don't tell us, tell Nexon your side of the story.
I agree with the unbanning/suspension removal of those who did not do anything with the BF glitch abuse and/or legitimacy. In your case, it's obvious you took part of it. Ignorance is not an excuse at your level.
Sorry if I sound harsh but that's really how it is.

I am just complaining and its not an excuse, its the truth. How are we suppose to know it was a glitch?

Ignorance is a fair excuse. How are we suppose to know we are breaking rules when Nexon is not clear? And even though I did take part of it, I got one of the longest bans just because of my class.

Its unfair.

you are 4th job, id guess you have been playing for over a week. when i first saw BF i said "its glitched" bosses arent supposed to be stunt or poisoned. if you have ever fought a boss you would know BF is a boss. crazy ass HP (23 mill) huge damage (11k) and the fact that nexon promised a boss. BF is the only monster that fits all the categories. i walked away from them not because it was "glitched" but because i figured people would abuse it and i didnt feel like fighting them. when NLs and FPs started abusing it i figured nexon would fix it soon, instead they surprised me with bans, cant say i aint happy about those rightfuly banned.

however i do know people who never killed a BF and got banned, reasons are beyond BF glitching and only nexon knows why they did it. it could be worse though, archers got banned in CW for using DB and puppet, be happy you arent the glitchiest class in freaking maple.

I didn't know it was wrong. When I did I stopped.

I did kill a few, and got banned for 30 days. While others who abused it even after the announcement got away with nothing or just like 3 days.

The news of Bigfoot spread like wildfire, even before the servers were reopened after the patch. I'd wager that the majority of people knew within 30 minutes of logging on, either from sites similar to this one, their guilds, buddy lists or random people in game.

Also... 2+mil exp in 40 seconds = OBVIOUS glitch. No one should have killed more than 1 bigfoot with ice demon/fire demon/mist/web before realizing how broken it was.

To me, whether or not it was abused before or after the announcement is irrelevant. Before the exp fix, it was blatantly obvious that no one is supposed to be able to gain exp that fast and anyone who killed more than 1 with the enemy-hp-based skills was purposely abusing it. Even the smallest shred of common sense should make anyone realize that, but instead people chose to feign ignorance because it happened to suit them and gave them an easy way to level up.

Also, in regards to the law, ignorance is not an excuse. Similarly, the ToS states that anyone purposely abusing a glitch is subject to reprimand... For the first bigfoot, if you didn't know, it wasn't your intent to abuse the glitch. For your second bigfoot, there's no excuse whatsoever.

Also... this literally made me facepalm:
Brandini Wrote:I assumed it just like last year when Nexon was experementing with poison weakness with Boomers.
That wasn't a promotion or experimenting, it was another glitch. They completely forgot about poison when designing that monster. They never meant for F/Ps to be able to crash a channel at will or get EXP that fast.

This is not a court room and considering this game is used by mostly teenagers, ignorance is a valid excuse.

As I said, I knew the experience was good, just like at Boomers. I thought it was just Nexon's way to advertise CWK.

But Nexon is obviously not sure what its doing, its giving some people 3 day ban and others 30 day bans. It is obvious just guessing and banning.

I already accepted ignorance as a valid excuse. Ignorance is no longer a valid excuse after you killed your first bigfoot, though, due to common sense. Reread my post, you posted while I was editing it Tongue

Did Nexon mention Boomers were a glitch? It seemed to be an experiment that went wrong, and they didn't ban anyone for training on Boomers.

If Boomers were infact a mistake, is it our fault Nexon didn't learn when creating bigfoot?

I thought you said ignorance was not an excuse after the first time.

Perfect game world:
a) Nexon makes a perfect game with no bugs, glitches, etc.
b) Players all play legitly - no hacks, no glitch abuse, scamming, etc.

Just because a) didn't come true is no reason for b) to follow suit. The terms that every single player agreed to in the ToS even has specific clauses for exactly that case because they know they're incapable of making a perfect game; no one is perfect. We're not contesting a) at all; we all know that they screwed up. We have no power to enforce it though, short of quitting.

For b), Nexon does have the power to ban the abusers, which is what they've been trying to do. Nexon not learning from their mistake is a big problem, I agree, but that doesn't mean it absolves the players from any responsibility. It's one of Nexon's duties to make sure the player base is playing by the rules. Banning glitchers falls under that mandate. Using the fact that Nexon messed up as an excuse is a cop-out because there will always be problems. No computer software of decent size is issue-free and it's unrealistic to expect it to be. What is realistic to expect is that the issues will be fixed in a reasonable time span when discovered. (and yes, I freely admit that they were a bit slow on their likely temporary fix of lowering its exp)

Also, I haven't been debating lengths of bans since we don't know what the players in question were doing or what the length is based on. I'm just saying that for several people, a ban was warranted.

I am a legit player, I have trained my character for a long time, I mad my character the day Kradia came out.

How as I suppose to know Bigfoots were not meant to be what they are? I do not know Nexon's intentions.

Many people's ban were simply for leveling too fast. A lot of Bishops and people that leech off Bishops got banned, and FP mages got the longest bans. I do not deserve a 30 day warning for training on what I thought was a good monster the way I normally train, with poison mist and composition.

That's not entirely accurate. Most of the "pros" are older people because they have more patience and ability to stay at a single task for prolonged periods of time. As for ignorance being an excuse, I would have to agree with the people here that if you killed a monster that gave you that much XP and took that much damage from your attack, you should have stopped immediately. My lvl 153 f/p archmage friend did not touch Bigfoot ever. I personally have never been to CWK for this reason, and I refuse to set foot in CWK for a good while longer, just in case there are residual issues with Bigfoot.

The thing of more relevance to you in particular is that convincing US will do you no good. The only people who can overturn your ban are Nexon, scary as that sounds. They have pomegranate customer service, so even if you have a case you probably will have to deal with an off-ranks character from now on, or restart. In any case, log a ticket with Nexon because that's your only real avenue of resort. However, since you did kill Bigfoot a bunch of times, I do not think they'll do anything in your favor even if they do read your ticket.

I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I am just venting off my anger while sharing my personal story.

I don't trust Nexon's cutomer service. They still owe me 25 bucks.

I hope you are kidding about being off rankings...

Everyone considers themselves "LEGITS" and then get tempted to "TRY" out a glitch. You've mentioned it yourself, you killed more than one BF so you knew something was off with it and continued to do so... In my book, this is abusing a glitch. Everyone knew about it and even if you disregarded Guild and BL chats, the different forums mentioning the glitch, it was fairly obvious, something was fishy with that monster.

Until Nexon officially reports this, people who were banned had nothing to do with leeching off bishops. Leeching is not an offense, leeching from glitchers and hackers is.

Why would you even need to read Nexon's intention on this? Were you thinking they'd made a Boss monster glitch on purpose?

You mentioned that the population of maple is mainly teenagers? Look at the number of teenagers and pre-teenagers here who did not get banned. It has nothing to do with age.

I suggested it to you before. Whining and trying to find an excuse for us to read will do you no good. Open a ticket to Nexon...And you'll know why nothing will happen in your case.

Like I said I did not know. Saying that I should have known does not the change the fact that I didn't know.

If you read my posts around when bigfoot was first released on these forums, you would see that I obviously thought it was legit.

On Yellonde, all glitchers were taken off ranks, I assume permanently; including the #1 in the server (stfu) and the #2 (xAmarae.) However, the punishment to Yellonde glitchers is harsher than to those in other servers, so you may not be taken off ranks.

I hope thats the case. Yellonde has barely been out a month. I have had my character since Kradia was released.
