No it isn't. People are misunderstanding the power leveling statement. If it was, I would be banned and so would many others.

What Blink stated is right. If a player had abused and taken advantage of the glitch in any way, he/she should be punished. Nexon stated it before, anyone caught doing it would face consequences.
Now, I still hear about people being banned and they claim had not even been close to a BF. Either they are victims of a ban glitch OR they had also banned for other offenses? It's cool that Nexon is reacting (hell, in broa, they had put up a notice for a cancellation of GM events due to the GM being mobbed and insulted. Another player smegaed vulgarity and a notice went out 20 sec after to announce that player got banned)...But I wonder why they haven't done this throughout. If they did, a hell of a lot more players would have been banned. The temp ban is a slap on the hand. Question is, will they be off the ranks permanantly?

As Ive said before, it looks like Nexon was being lazy and just set a "cutoff line" in which everyone that gained over a certain amount of exp in a certain amount of time got banned. The thing is, the line got set too low, meaning some legits can level faster than the bar set (Ie. Lots of 2x exp with ultimate spamming, etc). and that's where the unfair bannings have come in. Its good they're trying to do something, but it seems that its just that as usual, some innocents got hit as well =/

I've just heard of these bannings
Leeching is not bannable, however, if you're leeching from a hacker/glitch abuser, then it is bannable.

I hear you and I still believe that something had to happen if ToS were not followed. Like I've just pointed out in another thread...Why would they hurt their own business by randomly banning players?
If they are innocent, they need to open a ticket and see what can be done to remedy the situation. It happened before and Nexon were straight enough to put them back on the rankings and unban them. Their customer service may not be the most amazing out there, but I still believe in their impartiality (unless it coincides with their amazing -read lack- of programming talents).

When they talk about Powerleveling I wonder if there is a correlation between players that leveled quite a bit over a short amount of time and logged in from multiple ISP locations.
Nexon clearly states that sharing accounts is against the ToS. Regarding the temp ban as a slap on the wrist. We will have to see what else they do. They said that we can't name change or change worlds, but they didn't say anything about rankings. My feeling is they came down hard on this because their new server with a prize for leveling got gamed by the glitch.

dowadowa Wrote:QFT I'll definently have to agree with this. It's probably why they said the glitchers in yellonde will face a harsher punishment. Cheating to get the prize from Nexon is a big no no.

Yeah, the only logical thing that I've thought of for these "legits" getting banned is leeching from a glitcher. Kinda sucks since not everyone knows everything about the person they party, and I came close a few times. Also I never thought about the "cheating for prize" bit, but it makes all the more sense.

I saw haha61 (or whatever the numbers were >_>, the new lvl 200 guy
) got banned too... wasn't he a bishop? Yeah bishop glitching BF right? >_>

Quote:We have compiled a list of players who will be temporarily suspended for abusing the Big Foot glitch or any other power leveling glitches.Doesn't have to be killing the BF per se. It might have to do with PARTYING someone who did. Nexon mentioned the BF glitch and everyone jumps on the reasoning it had to do with just that one issue.

DumbApples Wrote:My friend leeched off his friend If we're going by the book, I would highly assume "Hanging on a rope after giving money to another person so they can level faster." is to play the game in a manner that is not intended by the creators. If they do something with it, though, is beyond my knowledge. Just level normally though, I don't really see a reason to leech from ultimate castings.

Devil's Sunrise Wrote:Just level normally though, I don't really see a reason to leech from ultimate castings. Well, I haven't heard about Beginners leveling past 70 normally without leeching. Also, maybe perhaps some people are better at making money than at training, and would like to put that money to good use while they're at it. (I mean, after you upgraded your gear as much as you can, what else are you gonna do with the leftover mesos?) And judging by the whole "leeching" deal, would this be an attempt to discourage people from leeching by multiboxing characters with multiple computers?

Judging by some of the more detailed posts amid all the griping on SW, it appears that Nexon simply banned anyone who gained some huge amount of experience in a short period of time. Buy a 2x card and grind at Skelegons with friends during 2x event, and BOOM! Several people whom I would believe (due to their reputations, because I don't know them) suffered this fate.
Of course this also nailed many buyers and sellers of leeched EXP, particularly those who also used 2x cards. Based on this, I am assuming (for now) that this is not a crackdown on leeching, much as I might get a kick out of that, but an attempt to catch people who leveled "too fast" by abusing glitches. They set some threshold for "too fast" and zapped anyone who crossed it, because that's much easier than reviewing each case personally. I guess they figure any innocent people who got hit by this will submit trouble tickets to get their bans lifted.
