No Evie. Wtp.

I'd rather take away all these features just to get Evie.

What's with the Evie obsession? Sure she's cool, but if she was out in Closed/Early access beta, she wouldn't be what everyone is gaggling over.

I happen to like mages. Especially female mages.

No Vindictus subforums, no Southperry guild. There's a reason there's an external link. Vindictable Guild. Just with a better name. Goggleemoticon

Kinda hard to create a group for a Vindictus website that only consists of Southperryans and that's not really active. Hell I think the Vindictus threads here get more posts than there.

Did southperry have a lot of threads in the beginning? No. Did it have a lot of visitors? No. Don't cut something off before it has a chance. Vindictus threads should not even exist on this forum anymore. They're all in the wrong section/site.

i understand that you want your site to be successful but don't you think it's pretty ridiculous to keep pressuring people to do what they don't want to? asking people to join a completely different site with a lot of the same members just to discuss something that they can just as easily do here.

the reason the external link is there is because of an affiliation, not because it's a necessity for people to go there if they want to talk about vindictus.

oh wow you snuck this in before i finished typing. you're so wrong and frankly with an attitude like that you're discouraging people from joining your website. i wouldn't want a bossy know-it-all for an admin.

As much as I want Vindictable to become huge, this.

I made a request with Eos. He put it in as a subforum. People ignore it. Why wouldn't I be mad? None of you would have gone there to begin with. Don't lie. This forum isn't going to go anywhere if we don't play a hard game. This is a maplestory forum. It isn't for vindictus. This is why we have sister sites.

I figured the reason that people didn't want to join the Vindictable forums was because I am there / am an administrator. :<

Anywho, I can't wait. It sucks that the game is going to be down for more than a week. Oh, well... I guess that'll give me a week to work on getting a job to pay for a new computer since my laptop just busted (hard drive crashed). I'm using my dad's computer right now, which means I can't do much at all on it. =/

no, he put it as an external link in a related subforum (for other games). he didn't make a rule that says GO POST HERE IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT VINDICTUS and all you're doing by "playing hard ball" is pushing people away. not to mention every single other post you make on this forum is a massive turn off. this isn't the place to criticize you but maybe you need it if you want people to join your site.

you want to be a good leader and have a solid user base? start acting like one. don't go on 8 page tangents with unsubstantiated claims in other parts of this forum. don't try forcing people to join your forum. you've clearly got eos' support to some extent, make a thread advertising your forum, you should be able to get around the no advertising rule due to the affiliation. give people a reason to join and stop trying to boss them around. get your head on straight.

I don't know if you have tried other than SouthPerry, but you should try to advertise elsewhere. I know it's hard to do this on the internet, but to get more traffic, we need a major source of interest. The only reason SP became huge was because of the breakaway from Sleepywood and the major extractor came with it.

I see you're trying to create a wiki to bring traffic, just as Fiel has his extractor which brings the majority of traffic. Since there is already a semi-official vindictuswiki, you need to make it better. Make it unique and into something that makes user want to visit it instead of VindictusWiki.

Yeah, that's something that Erich has been working on. Personally, I have no interest in a Wiki, though I'm 100% willing to help find things and help put it together even though I have no idea how to set up our Wiki. lol

I've tried advertising on websites, but no one is ever interested. We need more people to help get the word around than just myself. lol

This is why the vast majority of all fansites die.
No matter how awesome you think your site is, it's crap if no one ever visits and it takes traffic to bring more traffic.
You either tough out a period of obscurity until you can make a name for yourself, find your niche and prove you have some reason to go to your site instead of others. Very few sites get to start out with an embedded population the way SouthPerry did, and it's unrealistic for you to expect to be able to leverage the existing SP population for your own initial boom because as they've already said, most of them are either uninterested or already have other forums they can go to for game discussion, like here.

There's no compelling reason for the same population to exist in two places, and joining yours would be the route of more effort compared to just staying here. If I'd seen any sign a significant number of our population cared about Vindictus, or Mabinogi, I'd have given either/both a sub-forum of their own the way Pokemon has, but the interest just didn't seem to be there, that's why I agreed to the external link to you.

Most of the points people have made in this thread echo the same ones I already told you regarding survival and growth and I was up front with you then that I didn't think you'd last because you're expecting instant gratification. "If you build it they will come" only applies to novelties, not been there done thats.

Yeah, this is what I've been telling Erich, but he just replies with stupid comments like, "Are you even useful?" -.-
