Who got banned by bigfoot?

Judgment Wrote:Umm, Halloween is still over a month away.

And why exactly would you call people idiots for exploiting this when something like this happened before, which was ironically on a version of MS where people aren't as motivated/inspired/pressured into cheating at; JMS. (Not including those GMSers that went on JMS to hack at.)

And the glitch in JMS was that the Bodyguards were poisonable/SWable, just like how BF was.

one of the poison glitches/mistakes Nexon made before was also the boomers in NLC. They didn't go on a mass ban spree for people abusing it/crashing the fkin servers because of insane lag though.

I believe this is the incident Hazzy is reffering to?

Great originality though I'm a tadbit worried about poisoning the boss.

There's a way to fight him and not die, although it takes some coordination. About the mobs, we'll have to see how it works out. No promises, though.

They knew about it being poisonable before the patch was ever even implemented, yet did nothing about it. Now instead they're banning completely legit players to make up for it.

Pathetic.
you are not interpreting that comment right at all. He thought we were thinking poison was necessary, and instead said you can do it without poisoning. He didn't realize that it was poisonable or he would have directly addressed that.

nklr Wrote:They probably realized that only about 100 people had actually abused the glitch, so they decided to ban a bunch of random high levels to make the numbers look good.
I agree. I highly doubt that if three hundred people were glitching, each one could gain that much from it.
(Only a certain number of Bigfoot spawned during the time the rolling message was up. Depending on the number of people, if a high number of people killed them, then each would only get 1~2 kills. However, if a lower number of people killed them, then each could get 30~50 kills. The latter seems more likely, since some people are saying that they gained x levels from Bigfoot, such as that hermit that posted earlier.)

Now somebody is saying that they're banning for leeching too b/c one of his friends was on a rope @ newties & spammed HS and now he's banned :f6:..I guess Nexon doesn't want you to GAIN exp either Tongue GJ!....I've seen so many smegas about B/S leeching too :f6:

People started logging tickets since the day I posted that thread about Bigfoot being poisonable. The GMs waited quite a few days before posting the notice that it was in fact, a glitch, and not intentional as the message is. The ambiguity of that post is the problem. The fact that we could interpret that he knew about the problem makes it a problem for unknowing players.

Spamming HS is considered botting. It's in the TOS that holding a button down, whether using a Third-Party program or a Paperweight, is the same.

I was banned until September 29th....I admit I hunted Bigfoots, but this was before Nexon announced it wasn't on purpose, this is so fucked up.

Is being off-rankings permanent?
#68
Yeah. They shoulda patched it right away or done a sc to change the exp. Soon as it came out thou, they could of done more to stop it happening in the first place.

Also now with that being fixed aka patched in time. How the hell is anyone gonna kill and what reason too ?

CWK is waste of time noone trains there, nothings focused right at all (stupid drop rate of standed etc quest items even on x2/x4 drops <_<) no maps made for training. The CG's are good for high level warriors etc to train at but they added mega seal skill spamage so even those are worthless... Nexon America team needs to go to KMS and see how they made leafre etc.

Anyways.. yea good for the bans, kayle in my guild has been banned yet she's never even been to CWK o_0 so guessing they made few by mistake heh.

Another thing. tonights SC. Ends (it wont as delys as normal) 30min into x2 drop event time so they'd better make x2 drop hours longer <.<

The problem is that seeing a comment like that, he should have asked for elaboration. No matter how you interpret that comment, it's incompetence on Nexon's part, and frustratingly ridiculous.

However, if you ever poisoned/ webbed them even once, before anyone knew, then technically you are glitch abusing.
Nexon logic: You wanted to poison them, so therefore you deliberately glitch abused.
"Real" logic: I didn't know, therefore I did not intentionally abuse the BF glitch.

However, if Nexon used the "Pic or it didn't happen" rule, if it shows you poisoning/ webbing BF, there is no way to prove that you did it unintentionally. It could be a friend taking a pic of your BF killing, or someone wanting to prove you're glitch abusing. Your intent doesn't matter, because neither Nexon nor anyone else can see that. You're glitch abusing, therefore you are banned.

Of course, that was a very big "if", because they probably didn't use that rule.
NX logic: Just remove the Yellonde top 25, and anyone who advanced more than x rankings since CWK came out.
Problem is, that would unfortunately ban bystanders, especially in Yellonde, but what can you do?
#72
Ok, let's look at what happened here.

1. Nexon announces the patch.
2. The contents of the patch are discovered and released. This is when most people found out that Bigfoot could be poisoned.
3. People speculate as to whether being able to poison Bigfoot is intentional.
4. Nexon implements the patch.
5. Many people kill Bigfoot, both with and without poisoning or webbing it.
6. About a week later, Nexon finally announces that Bigfoot is glitched. They do not, however, say what the glitch is, so anybody that doesn't visit forums or obsess about the game has no idea what they're talking about.
7. People mostly stop killing Bigfoot. Most of those who do still kill it make sure not to use poison or web for fear of being banned.
8. After another few days, Nexon "fixes" Bigfoot by nerfing the exp, rather than actually fixing it.
9. Now barely anyone kills Bigfoot, and pretty much everyone that still does, kills it without poison or web, and just kills it for the toe and never goes back.
10. After *another* few days, Nexon bans hundreds of people, supposedly for abusing the glitch.

They knew Bigfoot was screwed up before they ever even implemented the patch. They knew about the problems through people bitching about Yellonde people abusing it, within about a day of it being released. They knew, yet they did nothing, didn't even announce anything for about a week. Even once they did, they never once bothered to tell anyone what specifically wasn't allowed at Bigfoot, and they never told people to stop killing it entirely. And still, even after this, they did nothing. Then they finally took some action, yet all they did was nerf the exp and did nothing to actually fix the problem. Then they still did nothing. Then they jumped direction to the mass bans of mostly legit people.

They had a ridiculous amount of time to fix the problem. Frankly, a problem so incredibly simple should not have ever even existed in the first place. Even so, they had ample opportunities to deal with it, yet they chose to do absolutely nothing. And now they've banned all these people, and guess what.

THEY STILL HAVEN'T EVEN FIXED BIGFOOT!

Whoever is in charge of hiring new programmers for Nexon needs to stop hiring kids out of middle school that have no experience and don't even know one full programming language.

That could work if it was only F/Ps and Hermits/NLs that got banned.

This does make more sense, and is unfortunately what they probably did.

The only applies if you're not actually at the computer. You can leech and HS your party all you want, as long as you're actually there doing it yourself. There's no rule against it.

They pop three bug-fixing patches on us at once, then don't patch this one. I think it's pretty likely they want to save version 60 for something big, Pirates(yea right), or Crimsonwood Keep Part II would both qualify.
The monster HP and experience are both controlled by their side, so they should just nerf it beyond anyone wanting to train on it until they fix it with a patch.

So is it legal to leave a rock there while you watch? It's botting, but you're there. Hurt

They did nerf the exp to 20k last server check.

which is what they did. and I think they would want something else than just one thing to fix for a patch. If I were them, id just do a patch, and throw something completly useless in like shanghai or thailand

They could easily just throw out an emergency patch and call it '0.59b'.

I keep seeing people say that Nexon must want to save .60 for something big, and if that is truly the case, then Nexon is far worse than I ever thought, and that's saying something.

Patch numbers do not, never have, and never will mean ANYTHING. NOBODY cares whether it's patch .60 or patch .92834592348932. There is no GOOD reason that they couldn't have instantly made a patch to fix the glitch. Hell, they even have a history of doing it in the past.

Hazzy Wrote:So is it legal to leave a rock there while you watch? It's botting, but you're there. Hurt

You missed the part where I said "as long as you're actually there doing it yourself". If you sit there and press that HS button manually every time it starts to run out, there is no rule against it whatsoever.

Don't you think they can look at the rankings and see, "Hmm, who gained 2.6 million experience repeatedly in large bursts?"
"Oh, this guy and this guy and this guy. Ban them, they were abusing the glitch."

seems totally logical to me. You know they have to have old ranking data on hand.
