Ask a Warrior Thread.
Stereo Wrote:What are you talking about? 90 dex has never been anything better than normal dex in GMS. If you were level 80+ in Beta you could get away with claiming 90 to be "low" dex (in Beta the recommended build was dex = 2*level to 30, then +1 per level after that) but by the time GMS came out, normal builds were already capping in the 80-100 range. I don't know more than a handful of warriors who ever went higher than 100 dex, and they were all using high-dex builds.

The higher you get the less important base dex is, since it's proportionally smaller (300+86 str is a big deal, 900+86 not so much), so I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's just silly to say you went 90 because it was low-dex. With that much dex you never need to wear dex gear, which is the most rational description of "low dex" I can come up with.

I've seen my Paladin go from low dex to normal to its current somewhat high dex, just as a result of changing equipment standards (35 dex since level 18, which was in 2005). When I was in 3rd job I used an accuracy glove to hit Grim Phantom Watches, among other acc/dex gear, now I have every possible str equipment and I'm still well ahead of the acc to hit Chief Oblivion Guardians.
I guess my wording was off. What I meant to say was it wasn't low dex but back when I was full out training my sader before zhelms were easy to get and everything, people would have dex capped off at 100 or more to wear stone tooth swords, or some just used the blue sader mail all the way to level 100. I mean basically my question is I want to get him back on track what do I need. I have a Ravana helm should I use that or try and get a chaos Zhelm?

Helmet should be one of your last upgrade priorities.

BAH ADVICE.

There's a blackfist cloak, both are clean, but one has been potentialed to unique with 3 lines. The unique one has a bunch of 9% dex, so I'll be forced to cube that. The other one isn't potentialed, both they have 4 attack clean slots. It's max looking for offers though so it'll probably be looking for 3b at least. Is it worth replacing either for my 11 attack cape, my ratio being 15 str: 1 attack. I DONT KNOW ALJDLIE

Uh, you can't have a str:attack ratio that high. Divide your str without any % bonuses by your attack without any % bonuses. If your 11 attack cape is a PAC, then the 3-line Blackfist cloak should be better.

That is a ridiculously high ratio...

Right now mine are 7.27str:1.57atk:1%str, or 4.6str:1atk:0.63%str, with approximately 880 str, 121% str, 191 atk. Can't recall my precise attack total but it's somewhere between 180 and 200 anyway. So even if I multiplied in percent str, I'd need at least 2700 str to get that 15:1 ratio.

Anyway with my 1.57:1 atk:%str ratio, 4.5% str would make up for the 7 atk difference on capes.

I must have done some math wrong, not that surprising haha. No unfortunately I don't have 2700 strength but about half of that. I have 1338 str with 18% str equipment and about..214 weapon attack total not including DB/warrior pot. It is Total weapon attack/str right?

How much more att would a slow spear need to have to be equal to a sky ski for bossing?Would this difference stay the same after the Big Bang?

Here's a general rule of thumb:

For Normal-speed Skis (ex: Sky Skis), it deals 10% more damage due to the faster weapon speed. For instance, if you have a 116 att Ski, it has a DPM equivalent to a 127 att slow spear.

I was wondering what is the ideal accuracy for a warrior would be....I think I went a little bit overboard on my DK... ^^; (lvl 113 currently and with 342 accuracy). Have 15 base dex if I recall correctly and most of the accuracy is from potential. I don't really get to party with people much so I worry about my accuracy and not being able to hit anything... :v

That's fine. You need 172ish for Oblivion Guards, so you're set.

You do not even need that kind of acc pre BB, after BB it will be even more useless. Get yourself some nifty % STR instead

Thanks for the tips (now I can stop obsessing xD ). I'll go ahead and start working on replacing my accuracy equips. Some I'll still keep though.

Using the numbers with Improving Max HP increase, it seems like a pre-BB warrior leveling 1-200 will have 7500 hp gained just from the skill (4300 at 120, 2300 at 70). Not including the 20% HP Bonus / Job Advance increases, (1-11 Have no points into the skill, and calculating the bonuses while the skill is at 2, 5, and 8 points).

Feel free to address any errors/issues with my maths.

Now with that skill being removed after BB, would it be viable to start leveling my Warrior while I can for the little bonus in HP each level will offer?

If anyone plans on posting on how easier training will be after BB, save your time I am already aware of the changes and just am inquiring on the HPs of warriors trained before and after.

New Warriors created after Big Bang will have 60 more HP than those created before Big Bang.

Quick scrolling question here, just got a hammer as a log off prize and used it on my lunchbox...is there an affordable alternative to just using a 60% scroll? I would really like to get the most out of this extra slot, but don't really know that i have a lot of options considering my funds. Are there any scrolls like those 50% two handed ones? And gm scrolls were removed from cwk exchange correct?

I've seen 50% 1h sword scrolls for 500m in Bera's fm. Worth looking into if it's something you're willing to invest that kind of cash in.

Alright, I'm kind of like blah on this because I'm kind of torn. Lately I have been trying too forge 14-16 str gloves with any weapon attack, with 3 lines. After about 18 gloves, all two lined and I'm pretty like LFJDL:JFSD about it but all good. But I've done some deeper research and I'm trying to figure out what the best option is for me.

Currently I'm only concerned with 3 things Cape, Glove, and shoes. Normally this was attack equipment slots but now with the potential it's kind of "what's good enough". Anyway I need 15% more to obtain my range and this is currently what I have

PAC 11 attack 2 lines with 2% str
SCG 19 attack 3 lines, no % str"
FS 8 attack 3 lines 4% str.

My total weapon attack 226 and my base str is like 844 I believe. Now I'm really concerned with my gloves/shoes. I have about 113 jump, and 127 jump with haste shoe. If I forge the gloves/shoes they will have to be reverse because they get an extra gem, so I can do advanced str/jump/speed. But would it be better to just Cube the attack equipment I have listed?

I also have a 100k nx every 2 week allowance so keep that in mind as well

DustBunny Wrote:General Confusion.

The good thing about PAC, SCG, and FS is that they're all Tier 2 in the potential category, so cubing them could be somewhat beneficial as to compared to lower level objects (Work glove, sauna, etc). In the end cubing a 3-line cape, shoe, and glove would be better if near perfected (18-24%Wink, but what you have now seems decent to be cubed.

Thinking of making a dk, will be glad if anyone can help with my queries.
Since there's HB pants now, are DKs still in demand for bossing runs?
Is it true that DKs will be using purple surf board after big bang patch for better dps?
