Nexon fixes everything! All you need is a little NX to help the process along ;D

All that aside, i sure hope they get their pomegranate together...

Nexon needs to cut the crap and fix the game. The problem is they have no idea what to fix first and don't have the manpower to even accomplish it.

Everyone on the Nexon forums criticized me for saying to hold on on new content and wait and told me I and my ideas were outdated, useless, and needed to be retired, and that I should quit the game. Wow... look how 0.89 turned out. A big steaming pile of rotten brown stinky pineapples. I can only imagine how 0.90 will turn out at this rate... a bigger steaming pile IMO.

Sure one bug will get fixed on 0.90 but then six more will replace it. What good will that accomplish? Heck no bugs from 0.88 got fixed and 0.89 added more. Gee...

People think Big Bang is going to be the Almighty Holy Chinchilla of God patch for MapleStory... got news for you... Big Bang wasn't even near perfect and now they've had to re-edit back in older content and abilities because half the stuff they added didn't even work right and still doesn't. Big Bang for GMS won't do us any bit of good unless Nexon get's off their useless rear ends and rewrites the whole game from the ground up to be bug free.

Problem is... ain't gonna happen! We might even be lucky if Big Bang doesn't go bang in the server and destroys the game entirely as well as the servers. I correct my earlier estimate of 4 patches for Big Bang... I estimate at least 10+ patches given the work ethics of Nexon.
I don't see really any bugs in v.89, just a buncha hacks. If you count the spawning "problem" thats not even an issue. The rewrite the whole game from the ground up would cause our characters to be deleted, don't want that now do we.

Say what?

Talking to a beta player here. In the years that I played Maplestory, I have never once seen a GM - whether Wizet or Nexon. This is why you see "OMG I TALKED TO A GM" every 6 months in the Scroll Lock. It never happens.

Wizet had the antithesis of GMs in the game. There was that one spearman... "TehSpearman" I think, SSEAX'd (or was it DupeX) Kargos all the way to level 100 before any new exp curve was ever implemented all with slash blast. Reporting was completely useless. The hackers would stay for days and weeks regardless of how many times you or your friends reported. About all you could do was R> DEFAME on people for being an asshat. Your fame meant more back in the early days. If you had bad fame, no one wanted to party, trade, or train with you. It was a given that hacking was extremely prevalent, and those who had negative fame were only those who hacked. Thus, defaming someone else was a powerful reputation tool to use against someone you loathed.

Hell, even back in the old days there was a sense of hacker pride - camaraderie. People who played the game legitimately were looked down upon (this was around 0.25 - 0.35 - the glory days of hacking). Then you had people who hacked until level 70 - 100, then turned "legit" and trained as normal players do regardless if the character hacked to those levels. This was an accepted way to get to high levels. Before rankings, no one cared if they got banned for 14 days. They just said they were taking a break from the game for a while then suddenly came back.

In short, there was absolutely no GM presence back in Wizet days. Zip. Zero. None. The customer service was even worse than you youngins have it today.

Seconded. I hate it when people talk about how Wizet did such a better job than Nexon, when in actuallity, Wizet probably sucked harder than Nexon. Though that doesn't mean that Nexon is by any means "good."

Besides Wizet only ran GMS in its earliest childhood, it's not valid or productive to compare them to Nexon. It was pomegranate when they ran it, and it would stil be pomegranate now, maybe not the same pomegranate as with Nexon, but pomegranate still smells pomegranate in the end.

Version 0.89 introduced a whole new even deeper level of hell for people on Vista and 7. People are getting D/Ced just from CCing after a certain period of time from 10~30 minutes. Most people with Vista and 7 (especially x64 users) can't even do boss runs at Zakum , Nibelung, and even other multi-phase/body bosses. You're lucky enough to get the the 2nd body but hardly anybody with x64 Vista or 7 can stay connected at the 3rd body. Ask how many get D/Ced just from killing CWKPQs Red Nerg on these operating systems.

A bunch of hacks isn't even scratching the surface. There's a whole host of problems for many people that just simply can not be fixed by methods people always claim work. Compatibility Mode doesn't work because HackShield resets the darn thing.

Some of us even doubt Big Bang will correct anything. We've seen Nexon's track record. It's pineappled and pomegranated and the BBB has them at an "F" rating. Hell why not just give them a "0" and call it even. I'd even go and say let's take the rotting corpse of Nexon and toss them in the incinerator. It's not worth burying them because someone always digs them back up like they do Elvis every so often in the tabloids.

A rewrite wouldn't mean lost data. Far from it. The game engine itself needs a whole overhaul to function properly with newer OSes. It needs to be able to support a newer updated DirectX foundation code, the handling of CPU instructions needs to be addressed on x64 CPUs, and even more so more priority needs to be given to bugs instead of content.

However all things said, it won't happen.

To be honest all I saw in this post was hate hate more hat. Very pessimistic and sort of depressing. On the boss run issue my whole guild myself and a lot of my bl don't have this problem. We boss without any issue what so ever. I don't know if I can even argue with you because it seems like the thought of NEXON in your mind is a knife covered in blood.

I think the whole reason behind the cc when dc, because of the new auto cc function from alien pq.

If your so worried about bossing and know nexon wont do anything why don't you just dual boot xp from your computer. If nexon wont fix it why don't you do something about it. All you listed will be gone if you invest time. Stop complaining about the whole os problem the fix is coming with big bang.

Hacks haven't scratch the surface? Really? Really? Your main concern is bossing, hackers are at zak and ht controlling it. Your waiting for 5hrs just to get in next thing you know your dc hacked. Not being able to train because an aran bot comes in to your map and kills half of your mobs. Cant do anego or bigfoot cause a hacker decide to god mode and ks the crap out of you.

Stop acting as if your a boss host and your feeling the most pain.

And yet, my guild has these problems. Our two main attackers on a CKPQ run DCed, which fucked us up. Same thing happened on the Zak run the following Sunday, which I DCed on too.

Except we shouldn't have to do anything special besides fulfill the minimum requirements to run MapleStory. Why are we being punished for going above them?

If you look at their list of recommended and required specs, nowhere does it say anything about Windows 7 or Vista. It's simply not supported for Maplestory. Since you do not have Windows XP, you do not meet their criteria. Windows 7 is just as supported as Ubuntu according to Nexon.

In short, Windows 7 is not better than XP. It's a whole other operating system which does not fall in line with any of their requirements or recommendations.

Punished? Your not being hell banned, if bossing is the only thing you do then i would see it as hell. People i know who only boss went out their way and dual boot xp on their machine.

Also i only see the problem with vista/windows 7 64 bit machines. Most computers bought now are 32bit

my 32 bit Win 7 doesn't seem to like Zakum either :/ Hell i even DC at Scarlion 2nd body...

Have you tried changing graphics? When you start to see zak dissaper and phaze out. Change your graphics, then open up your item box. If you can see your item box you wont dc. If you see it cut off after changing graphics change it again.

90% sure that disappearing zakum is a graphic card problem, not a compatibility problem.

I do change graphics =/ But i DC'd too many times now, so people don't tend to use me on zak runs anymore =(

I really started changing graphics like a mad man because my maple dcs me every 15 minutes if i don't do it at least once. Either that or alt tab out of maple evey once in a while.

Well then thats your issue to deal with. It's harsh but its true.

Just pointing out the fact that just because it doesn't happen to anyone you know does not equate to there being no problem.

The disappearing/disconnecting Zakum issue has been tracked on ATI, Nvidia, and even an Intel graphics card that barely managed to not bottleneck. It's not a hardware issue. It's not a driver issue either in case you were wondering.

It didn't happen on Vista/7 when we were able to use Compatibility Mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3 but only back when we had GameGuard. HackShield detects any changes such as compatibility mode, resets them, and forces anyone to use Vista/7 native mode regardless of what's done.

It's an OS issue plain and simple and it honestly doesn't take much to fix it. The game needs to be made compatible for Vista and 7 systems and possibly even x64 systems.

Define "punished":

People with Vista and 7 are being punished for not using Windows XP by not being allowed to complete runs against bosses like Zakum. Use Windows XP or we won't let you finish the boss.

People are being punished by being disconnected for not staying on one channel after logging in. Stay on your channel or you'll be disconnected.

AhnLab is only partially responsible for this... Nexon is responsible for the rest of it.

I never said it wasn't a problem it's just not a HUGE problem that will destroy the game. Maybe it makes it unpleasant for people but others have learned to deal with it or never had the problem. It's not destroying the game just hurting others which an be fixed most likely when bb hits.
