I like those people on the Nexon forums

Who make desperate attempts to make countless threads only to troll every single person to ever reply.

*sigh* Where is the human population going? Certainly, this disproves evolution.

Society counteracts evolution. In order for evolution to work as intended, the species are not meant to create governments that give out welfare and disability payments. If this were a true every-man-fends-for-himself kind of earth, those with mental or physical disabilities would not last long in the wild. In short, humanity, as it stands today, is not necessarily survival of the fittest anymore.

That would only apply if evolution didn't give humans the ability for reasoning.

Our society doesn't benefit anymore from physical fit humans, since they all will be replaced by automated robots, and less fit (older) people will be aided by these robots.

The only three evolutions of the human race that are left are:
- Survival (getting as old as possible)
- Evolving the human mind to aid in the quest of survival.
- Creating a society that aids to the above points.

But apparently the whole of humanity fails very hard at the last point... Especially for certain individuals at 4Chan, Nexon Forums & Co... Wink

Survival has nothing to do with age. If I have 10 kids by the time I'm 30 only to die in a car crash, I have been more successful than someone who lives to be 70 with 2 kids.

The human mind has something called plasticity, so environment is a larger factor in it's functionality than genetics. It allows an individual's brain to change thousands of times faster than through genetic evolution, so you will have to wait many tens of thousands of years to see a significant change in the average human's genetics.

Considering this thread is starting to get interesting. It's not that the survival of the fittest is gone. It's just that it changes the requirements. Right now, more people gets to pass their genes, yeah, but each society gets to choose a path to keep the genes. Some pick the most handsome people. Others the most inteligent ones. Others, the size of the PENIS. Some tribes even pick the fattest men as PERFECT. Right now, there's so much social diversification, though, that those boundaries are very... gray.

Talking about evolution reminded me of an old game I used to play. The idea is you started as a tiny fish (tadpoe?) and try to evolve. Fast forward to end game.... one of the best evolution is human, and it's not because it's the strongest evolution, but it's because you can use a weapon (a bone).

Moral of the story? Well, find one...

What about a society that promotes eugenics (Ancient Greek)?

I once watched a movie called Idiocracy that revolved around the human race going through reverse evolution and the entire world ending up either mentally retarded or about as mature as a 6th grader. The explanation for this was that with advanced medical technology and various other factors, the human race wasn't undergoing the normal form of natural selection. Instead of natural selection favoring the humans that were strong or smart enough to fend for themselves until sexual maturity, it favored the part of the population that breaded the most. Since the more intelligent part of the population tends not to have children until they're absolutely sure they can support that lifestyle, they often lose a portion of their fertility by the time they're ready, whereas the dumber parts of the population have more children because they have more sex as teenagers or just don't use birth control.

The movie itself was pretty stupid, but I couldn't help but laugh since it's premise actually made a lot of sense, and now I keep thinking back on that movie whenever I watch the news.

Who is even using those forums? They can't edit posts so they will have to make millions of posts/threads.
