The title of that track is "SEQ_BGM_VS_WCS." WCS would imply it's only for World Championship battles.

makes more sense then them just shadow evolving. also lends more to my theory of them just being data.

In regards to the sound track quality, it seems to have made a giant leap from HGSS. I still prefer HGSS's from my personal taste, but this sounds much less game boyish.
