I hope they have the enchantment glitched items, ht/bp/other hacks, and the bans resolved
before updating gms with big bang... =/

Wasn't there only 2 Resistance classes before BB, then the Mech after? Irregardless, it would be smarter if Nexon to separate the Resistance from BB.

In other news, i can play MS again. You can count on me making a video of how a post-BB buccaneer SHOULD be played right after the patch. :]

It went BB, resistance, then mech.

But all 3 patches were in the month. It wasn't 3 months of content. It was maybe, 2 weeks between them. At most. Like the visitor events. 3 parts.

Dusk Wrote:MapleStory is an MMO, and is therefore in a constant state of flux. To argue that this isn't MapleStory doesn't make any sense. Six years ago, MapleStory was four towns and a little dungeon, and skills up to level 70. The game has changed a lot since then, and it will continue to change. Nearly all of the changes to Big Bang are positive; I'm assuming the negativity is mostly coming from resistance to change.

When I started, a little after the third anniversary, GMS already had 4th job and all the continents it has today, even NLC.
A lot has changed since then, of course. Many world tour areas added, Phantom Forest and Crimsonwood keep, Pirates and all the jobs after. But those were additions, not remakes of existing stuff (except for the Vic Island mob rearrangement that came with Monster Book, and a few skill changes with the "rebalancing" patch). And all those changes were gradual.
Here we are talking major restructuring of everything, all at once. Mobs, maps, skills, formulas, quests... Too much for this old dog to accept as still being the same game.

All the sprites are the same. All the skills are pretty much the same. All the character's playstyles remain in tact, save for ultimate spamming mages. Yeah, a lot of the game changes, but the core stays the same. If you really have a problem with this, find a private server running 1x exp GMS v.89.

LOL. Yeah right.

Does more change than I thought? It seems like a lot of classes still keep the same core skills.

Every class' playstyle changed.

Yeah, characters rely on techniques that they never did before. Outlaws rely on FT+IS to train, archers mob much more because of the removed whacking, warriors make up for their lack of speed (not so much speed but movement skills) by manipulating their push and pull skills, buccaneers no longer rely on technique to keep up invincibility, arans no longer have to rely on having 100+ combos to deal extremely high damage, etc etc.

I always wondered why they didnt change that in v86 when guns stopped whacking

Because at the time KMS had only allowed Gunslingers to attack at close range. That ''Adventurer balance'' patch was just a small temporary fix for a few things. Big Bang brings the real balance patch.

If the poll runs from th 23rd to the 29th ( when the net patch starts ) that means we could actually get it this month. o.o

Though I have always expected October patch since we been getting everything 3 months are KMS.

Don't take it personal, but calling yourself an "old dog" when you started this game AFTER GMS had the 4th job is really asinine. To put it bluntly, the beta players, if anyone else, would have the right to complain about all these changes that are happening. Yet they don't, they either left a long time ago or know, by experience, that things change and they must adapt.

I joined a week or two after Broa opened, yet I embrace this changes with open arms. I'm sorry, I just don't see the valid point in your argument, at least nothing beyond fear of change.

I personally don't like the removed whacking. I usually run around with mortal blow on lower level mobs for card hunting so as to not have MP costs.

But, you won't be hunting for cards anymore, will you?

Not for the time being, unless the removal of the MB is just for restructuring purposes, but the monster cards are gone for good.
