I keep reading it as "yuri dice" but that is pretty irrelevant.

Agreed with Sarah.

Most of you would much rather bashbashbash and create something out of nothing.

Let things unfold. You want things done and think you could do a better job? Apply for a job position. Otherwise, shut it. The negativity is honestly a pain in the ass to read.

It's good to see that they're actually trying to reach the players.

But it's still propaganda. There's flip-sides of every coin. You have their side, and our side. Both are trying to prove their point. Both are hiding facts that work against them. We'll never find the "real' truth. It's all in what you believe is the truth. They're the ones with the power. They're the ones with the policies. They're the ones who can replace any one of us with 10 more players. We don't really have a choice in what content we get. As they stated here, each version is different. Nothing can have it all. Nothing will have it all. Nexon already made a poor choice in docking Neo Tokyo, and there's nothing we could have done or can do to get it. It just won't happen.

When the hell did I say anything? I said "THIS COULD BE". They were the ones who went on about Neo Tokyo and crap. I usually let things unfold I just speak my mind of what I BELIEVE could happen. /end rant

I see this as nothing but crowd-control, especially revolving some of the most disgusting hacks recently. It's just their way of saying, "Sorry, it takes time." If they were more committed, they would spend more energy on in-game patrol and more frequent patches. I wish they would just drop Combat Arms and focus on maple.

Lovely 'appeals to authority' logical fallacy variant there.

Nobody here has to apply for a job at Nexon to make sense in the assertions made about its development policy and development, or lack thereof. Also, they don't pay enough to warrant a position there.

Nobody is forcing you to read any of our posts.

Let things unfold? Correct us on how long it's been since the last custom content for GMS that was worth half a schmuck.

Nice troll regardless, Nexon apologist.

And nobody is forcing you to play the game. Funny realization, huh?

Nexon apologist? Not even close. I just believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. I don't care what they release next, how long it takes them, or what ideas are "original". Nitpicking at everything they do is honestly pointless; they're not going to be perfect.

In other words, unless you've been in their shoes, passing judgment is... unwarranted? Not the word I'm looking for, so I'll edit it later. Maybe something along the lines of ignorant/arrogant or whatever.

Why combat arms? All they need to do for combat arms add a few new guns, packages, and one new map then their done. Combat arms doesn't even have daily gm's patrols. Combat arms is pretty simple compared to mabinogi.

Because they say it's hard, it's hard. They say it takes time, it will take time. Regardless, I do appreciate the communication, but if anything, I think this, together with many other communications, is just a half-assed attempt to avoid more BBB/consumerist incidents. Save us the goddamned hassle anyway.

You are committing the same logical fallacy.....you simply reworded it.

Dual monitors running code preview..... easily match up the differences. And that's the hard pain-in-the-ass way. I'm sure there are easier methods than the ones I used when i hex edited SNES code eons ago to compare differences in code from JPN and US versions.

If Maple code modding (or porting if you prefer that term) is anything like Call of Duty modding, then you would need the client and server code for one monitor and the client/server code for the father code on the other. I would guess they face the same issues as some things should only come server side but the client module can't have conflict. And this is all going without a SDK. You're telling me the Korean MS dev team provides barebone code to the other teams throughout the globe? That would be a drag, but you still wouldn't need months if you have even a DM setup. I'm very interested to know how they do the process.

You're assuming the recipients actually have the full code for both their systems and the systems they're trying to upgrade to.
For all you know they get nothing more than a differential patch of the before/after for the updates from the original codebase and the developer notes, then have to reverse engineer that to determine applicable changes on their own codebase.

Your frame of reference is too limited if you automatically assume making segmented changes from inconsistent versions of both a client and server is somehow comparable to just modding an SNES game.

It never made sense(and still doesnt) to me why they have made 10 "localized" versions of Maple, I'd rather have 1 worldwide version. Plus it would make updateing it a heck of a lot easier.

This is as meaningful as the other notices they have made years ago about hackers and suchlike...

How exactly is it a fallacy? It's a concept that applies to everyday life. Unless you're there in the office, you have no idea what's going on.

Takebacker Wrote:Wanna do the math and tell me what that number is after threaten is counted for? >_> Iirc, the number you're referring to applies for bergamot's touch? All the other bosses have much less physical attack then that, except for aufheben.

Aufheben's genesis attack, for example. The only way they found in JMS to make ranged classes survive (at least, the last time I checked) was using summon bags (which was also a bug, because you weren't supposed to be able to use them there) and make them continuosly take damage from the summoned monsters instead, so that they wouldn't be hitted from Aufheben's attacks, and obviously not participate in the fight at all.

AWESOME.

Sure, let things unfold. but when every single one of us reads that blog and comes away with the impression that they could have said the same thing in 1 sentence, its clear to me that this is only a token attempt at pacifying the raging masses that went through a couple PR and CS people who watered it down and took out any real information. thats a really bad sign for any future posts, because they will be just as empty.

nexon, let us have a real dev blog, not some piece of crap filler meant to appease fools.

that would be a good point if southperry didn't immediately attack everything nexon ever does, regardless of whether it's good or bad.

Eosian Wrote:No, I believe this was literal - He said the Developers, as in the people in KMS who actually do the wz building, and we already know for a fact those people are in fact all in the Korean office so it fits. It's not really something to argue over though since it lacks any discussion value.

They did specifically move the Nexon America HQ closer to the airport as a lot of their workforce flies to and from Korea...so they probably fly them in from Korea to do the patches. lol
