Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards?

I have binders chock full of them.

I remember when they came out in the dollar store, everyone used to go there after school and buy loads of packs of cards for $2 each.

last set i remember getting was Fossil. a former step brother stole most of my pokemon and yu-gi-oh cards, which put a massive damper on card games for me, and being antisocial i never had anyone to play with.

Yea T_T Rares only sell for like $1 or something, while extremely rare cards average to 4~5 and very high demand cards are 15~80

I think more people are getting back into pokemon because konami [company that makes yugioh] is pissing off its fan-base pretty bad.

I never played, but i think the best strategical card game around is still magic. Personally I'd want a card game where there aren't 1-4 archetype decks that everyone runs, but rather a game where there really is no god tier deck and all of them have advantages/disadvantages.

Thats so true, I tried to get into Yu-Gi-Oh but my bf has been playing it for ages.. and started going on about how everyone uses lightsworns blah blah blah, then there was something about zombies and burn and other crap. Which I zoned out since well I just want to play cards. I think thats a trading card games downfall, that they always seem to end up with a certain deck type that beats all the rest. Meaning average players can't enjoy the game as much, unless they actually shell out a ridiculous amount of cash to get said decks.


I have tons of cards, mainly from the 1st released and the 1st lot of team rocket pokemon. I still have them now but I don't use them, I used to trade them at school, that would of been back in the year 2000 I think xDD God it seems so long ago now D:

Well with yugioh, the two main decks atm are lightsworns and xsabers, which cost a few hundred dollars to make a deck. But also, konami has been reprinting a lot of its cards over and over, so a card that was worth a lot, now is worth like $1 [think about say miwok rings were really sought after, then nexon added the alien rings which are easier to get and are kind of a slap in the face]

At least in pokemon nintendo needs to reprint cards since they use a modified rotation for cards, and only certain sets can be used i.e. currently the format is diamond and pearl card sets up to present, and pretty soon, the oldest 4-5 sets will be rotated out and all those cards will be banned from tournament play. So they have to reprint cards, but i kinda like how they only reprint stuff such as trainers, and very rarely reprint an actual pokemon and it's abilities/attacks. If they do, it's usually modified from it's old version (Like blastoise rain dance metagame gets reprinted through feraligatr and stuff).

i bought the beginner pokemon pack....when i was like...6 or something, played with my friend once...and never touched those cards again...
i still have them to this day lol...i'm 22 now xD

but i have watched many of my friends in highschool, playing yugioh, magic and all..
