Sprint
#1
(as in the phone carrier)

Everyone says it sucks. I've been using it for several years, and maybe it's only because I've never had anything else, but I don't see what's so bad about it..

Anyone care to enlighten me?

I used Sprint for a year or so. I live in the Metro Detroit area so you would think I would have GREAT reception. Yea, it wasn't great at all. I had to go out to almost my sidewalk to get reception. I had a regular cellphone and one of their walkie talkie/cell phones. Both were pomegranate. I paid $300 for my phone and $100 + a month for my service and I finally quit paying because it wasn't worth it anymore to stand in my damn driveway to talk on the phone lol.

Sprint is terrible. I had a phone with them for a while and the reception was absolutely terrible. Plus, I hated the push to talk crap. I use my cell phone as a phone, thank you very much.

da fk r u guys on about?
I've been using Sprint for two years and I get reception everywhere I go. Even in school, where many other phones get a sh'itty signal, my little Sprint Katana kicks their ass. I've even whispered to people over the phone and they can hear me clearly with no problem, and I can hear them just as well.

The only problem I have with Sprint is their lack of texting-phones (and by that I mean phones with a qwerty keyboard); the only one they've got is the Rumor.

:O ANother person from my area??!?! I live in Troy. Just north of Detroit. Our entire family uses Verizon as well. I have NEVER dropped a call or never had service with them. I love them.

The phones aren't that bad unless you pay for a good one. I have the enV and I paid $70 for it. I love it.

I have Nextel which is now owned by Sprint.. they have very bad customer service and they tricked my mom into a weird contract. Basically, they gave us minutes to share (a very small amount) per month, and then when those were used up, she had a crapload more minutes. She would always use both up pretty fast and then start talking after 7 instead, and anytime I made a call we'd get an overage fee. `-` The wound up changing our plan three times, and now they charge for all 3. Mom doesn't want to terminate the contract though, so we're stuck with them until November. Confused I've always gotten good reception though and pretty clear voice. They've improved a lot over the past year or so on that.

Verizon is an excellent carrier for service. They come set up phone trucks for my town when hurricanes knock out the phone company and the power for people who don't have good cells, and no one here has anything but good things to say of their service because it works even then. Cingular (now AT&T) also does this but their service isn't as reliable.

I've always gotten good reception with Sprint, and if it wasn't for their lack of decent phones and them getting rid of their SERO plan, I'd probably be using them.

What? Verizon has some of the best phones on the market right now, except Sprint has better individual plans. Their family lines are nicely priced, however.

I have a Katana too Biggrin

If I've ever had bad reception, I've never noticed.

I've had Sprint for about 2+years now, never had an issue & customer service is fine with us, I guess it depends on which customer service rep you're talking with.As for reception, it just depends on where you are really lol.. Before that I had AT&T BEFORE they merged with Cingular & that was a hell hole. Our contract was Void b/c they merged with cingular & they DIDN'T tell their customers that they merged so our last phone bill was $1000+(family plan) Tongue & that was when we ended our contract with them.. GG..

There is this one highway that goes E/W in my area and for about 10 miles on that stretch (which by the way is a HIGHLY populated area, which most of Metro Detroit is) that you can't use Nextel/Sprint because for some reason they don't get service there lol.
