Equip drops post-BB
#1
How much did equip drops change in BB?

1) Do equips still drop like candy?

2) Have drops been adjusted to account for the change in mob levels? Training in Magatia, which I believe is now 3rd job range, will not give one lots of lvl 50 equips?

1) I haven't heard any news of it being reduced, so it should still be the same; after all, the potential system wasn't removed so there's no reason for them to change the drop rate again.

2) Yes. Even Lv110 equipment drop now, apparently. x.x

What didn't make sense was NOT having them drop from the beginning.

Nah. But dragon spirits/ scales should have had a better drop rate, much closer to the rate of PoT drops

Yeah, i don't know what they were thinking there. They even changed it too, and it STILL isn't as good as PoT drop rates...

I've also found a level 110 Warrior Shoe from those shrub things in Herb Town (I don't know the English name, but in JMS, they're called キキョウ) and I found a level 110 Warrior overall from Master Death Teddies.

Well I think people should really take some effort in making them, instead of getting lucky once and finding it.

Effort as in 'get incredibly lucky several times or shell out a good amount of meso to buy the stuff off of other people who got lucky'?

But anyways, all of this is good to hear. I'm hoping that equip drops are more balanced this time around, which it sounds like it is. It irks me a lot how a good amount of female archer armor after Level 80 only drops from bosses or one or two specific mobs.

I've been at Skeles for a fair amount of time, I did most of my late 14x there, as well as a lot of my 12x and 13x - and I still haven't collected enough Dragon Spirit/Scales to forge one single item. I think my total to date is 2 of one, 1 of the other. You need 5 of each per equip, 20 of each for the weapons - that's not even gonna happen unless I train until 180-190 on Skeles alone. It's honestly ridiculous how hard the 110 armor is to get.

Okay, maybe it's too hard like it is now, but like requiring 5 Spirits and 5 Scales is pretty decent I guess.

Again, I think you need to put effort in making your endgame equips, which they were before ToT came.

Its utter pomegranate that I can x4 at ToT for 4 hours and find 30+ Pieces of time and x4 at skeles for the same amount of time and not find a single dragon scale. Dragon Equipment should be MUCH easier to make than Reverse items.

They made it WAY too hard, even for an "end game" weapon. Its to the point where Dragon Items aren't even available in Demethos, unless you got them from HT, and gl with that considering Complex is the only guild that actively HT's.

Getting real off-topic though ><

Besides, the lvl 120 items beat down the lvl 110 items, because of level ups and the chance of extra skill points.

The drop rate of 110 equips indicate to me that either non-growth/element equip drops are useless now (w/ maker) and/or there will be higher-level equips.

Proud to own what I think was the first full 110 bowmen sets in GMS, but I don't actually see them dropping as a problem. My only real wish is for all 110+ equipment to have a "set" bonus since honestly I want to see more people wearing them over common stuff. That and if I decide to potential my gear now, I can't afford backups of the 110 gear. I think the only real reason 110 gear never got off the ground was because they released ToT prior to Maker here in GMS.

I've gotten past the point where equipment should be a privilege, I think it only right that as we move forward in higher leveled equipment that all but the highest leveled "end game" can be obtained by the common player.

I think we're long past that point with multiple eggs making plain HTP's look like pomegranate, the Thailand limited-time helm making plain zakum helms look pomegranatety and drops of time from limited-time events making timeless equips possible without defeating PB. (GMS might not have some or all of these)

As long as a player with average equips can participate fully in every aspect of the game, I am content (no need to have ridiculous HP equips to challege PB for example).
