I host stuff on here though, and I'm downloading, so it could probably show better results if I shut everything off.

IllegallySane Wrote:*shakes fist in jealously* I say that only because the advertised speed is 100 Mb/s. My computer isn't too great, other people are using the connection, etc.

Wow......... I tested speed on my desktop so I went from testing wireless speed via router to direct speed via modem. What the HELL happened??! These are all at the same server (Chicago) with no downloads interfering. I'm both amused and scared at how fast my speed truly is although the huge range in download speed makes me curious. Looks like I'm finally getting what I paid for, and all it took was something as simple as asking for a replacement of my old rental gateway equipment.

Still partway through testing. The Testing Download gauge seems to be stuck...
Then again, I'm currently downloading Neo Steam (just to try it out) and I have the ijji reactor running, IE with 4 tabs, Windows Live Messenger running... p.s. Stopped the download and tried the test again...holy s***, it's even slower than before. This doesn't make sense AT ALL.

![]() Direct connection I was testing with my router earlier and getting 2mbps download/upload. Dead much? Also, my ping makes me want to shoot something. I called Comcast and they blamed it on high traffic. Jealous of you people who squeeze more than 20 out of Comcast.

Wired connection at home:
![]() But it doesn't matter anyway because my computer's too slow at rendering to make it feel anything remotely fast when just browsing stuff. larmie Wrote:Wow. Except that it is, unless Berkeley somehow became no longer a university. |
