I giggled. That leaves only a small handful of people who can do this then, the vast majority simply leech the hacking programs and wouldnt be able to explain how the hack their using really works to save themselves.

I don't get why this is so hard, Nexon:

• Set the variable boomrate to the amount of earlier enhancements
  
• If scrolltype is not advanced, increment boomrate by 2
  
• If boomrate is over 9, set it to 9
  
• set boomrate := boomrate * 10
  

Now, boomrate is the probability in percent for exploding your item. If the item doesn't explode, the scroll works. This can actually be done server-sided, Nexon. Duh.

Users already DC when the scroll works while using this exploit, so I'm not sure why they can't just block the scroll's use too.

If someone actually was that stupid to buy it then they deserve to be banned as well. When the stars can't even fit on the item's tooltip that should give you a clue that it wasn't intended to be possible. Not to mention the common sense to realize how ridiculously unlikely it is.

At the bolded, wouldn't that mean that enhancement scrolls recieve +20% success rate compared to advanced enhancement? I think you mean if the scrolltype == advanced, increment boomrate by 2.

He was actually right. Boomrate is the rate of exploding, so if the scroll isn't advanced, you increase it - more chance of boomage.

Yeah slipped my mind that boomrate was the rate of exploding, since it's so obvious. >_>

This whole thing is especially dangerous simply because its basically untraceable once things change hands enough times. Someone could put 3 or even 4 stars on any piece and no one would know it wasn't just a lucky scrolling. The danger to the game is not simply the +37 or +49 or +72 stars equips, those will get removed eventually, its the godly equips that no one would dare risk enhancing 4 or 5 times, that now can get 4 stars without a major risk.
Anyone can take a look in the scania FM and see the catastrophic results of this exploit. There are tons of pieces of gear in almost every FM with at least 4 stars on them. This is game changing.

I'm going to avoid anything with stars for now just in case.

Still, learning how to use packets isn't much harder than learning html, or making a vBulletin forum. A lot of people are still doing it, just not all the 12 year old kids.

Honestly, I know many legit people would be against it, but they should just remove the enhancement system and restore all items to pre-enhancement status, untill they can get this crap fixed, put a hard cap of 6-7 enhancements at the very least.
