v89 Update Notes
GameMX Wrote:NXJoe and Prose appear to have created Masteria. After all the time that has passed, seems like Nexon won't finish it.
CWKPQ and HH2 were made without em.

Not an issue with me patching it because NXPatcher includes auto-backup services. Chin

Thanks for the upload.

No, they were RELEASED afterward. You don't know how long they were in development beforehand. Besides, that would explain the huge gap in quality between CKPQ and HH 2009.

Not to mention nxprose even said that CWK was two parts, one of which was too big to fit in the first patch. BUT maybe he was lieing. Tongue

Because CWKPQ was the last "major" release to masteria, Im feeling that if there isnt anything new for masteria within 2010, then the project is pretty much dead (hurts to say Frown But they kind of are filling their plates now, what with 2 concurrent GMS exclusive story lines that are just sitting there (masteria and Episodes).

It is rather sad to think that out of ALL of their staff, nobody, not one soul in that place has an idea for an area that's good enough to get corporate's attention.

I do understand that Masteria is/was great and all, but what would stop them from creating a new area, based on new/innovating ideas? Or that a different design team
comes up with a new direction for masteria over their coffee breaks over the years since prose/joe left the team. Good lord these kind of things happen in all
facets of business all the time, it's really just sad.

I hope someone breaks out of the box over there at NX-AM sometime soon, and come up with a new area that they can actually finish.

How misleading @ those are not available at Stage 1. Rolleyes

And to be completely honest, CKPQ didn't live up to expectations. I mean, graphics and audio are nice, but parts of the PQ (Test of Wisdom? Getting past the Lightning Gate?) seem to be very half-assed.

IsaacGS Wrote:Yeah, i was looking at that. Mu Lung is gonna be a nightmare, and have fun if you're not a mage and between 60 and 80, because that 500/sec cloud is gonna destroy everyone else.

Why would a 500/sec cloud matter when Snowman does 1.5k damage?

well it's the combination of them that makes it so deadly lol. Have about 2k-2.2k at that level, take the 1.5k hit, then die as you immediately take 500 more which finishes you off. You've also got cold damage to deal with too, so even having slightly more wouldn't help necessarily. Not saying it's impossible by any means, but if anyone has any lag at all they'll be in real trouble.

Or you can party with a higher level and have them do it. Has anyone seen if this is actually broken or an incorrect announcement? This event was originally in KMS like 2 years ago when Master Monsters first came out, i doubt they'd do something so obviously wrong.

Seriously, Nexon's game design in general is terrible. A lot of masteria maps are difficult to navigate and not because they're supposed to be, especially most of the crimsonwood mountain maps and bigger ben. Most of the elemental immunities aren't necessary and are just a bother. Crimsonwood keep doesn't feel like it's an actual building at all, you're just moving around through random maps. Ckpq's jump quest stage has a lot of broken tiles, and all the totem poles do is make you use a potion. The test of wit is particularly dumb, I'm guessing Nexon's testers weren't able to jump up without people at the bottom stopping the flames. None of the class-specific stages present any challenge at all, and of course there's the anti-shadower thief room and glitched magician room.
