I wonder what program they used to render the bears. Do you know HOW MANY man hours it took to make just 1 of the bears? There is so much fur.... I know that both 3DS and Maya have a hair making tool, but GOD!

There is no hair on those bears except for the head, the ear and the chin of the smaller bear. Look at the bridge of the nose of the cub; does it look like fur or like a 3-D model with a modded wood texture?

I do believe it is fur. If i gave cared I would probably take the picture and zoom in on points that would prove this.

It would look bad if it was a texture. It is possible that it is rendered fur. There have been programs lately, I believe, that worked in creating fast realistic hair, which could probably be applied here with fur.
